oil pan removal

hmm thats so odd. sounds like a plug or re stricter isn't in place. or like bob mentioned maybe something wrong with the gauge or something blocking the flow to the gauge. cuz if you have good flow out of the port it should have enough volume to build pressure. sounds like the oil is going somewhere it shouldnt maybe

Yes got a good flow. I am going to see if I can make a short video showing the oil flow coming out of the port and post it.

That would be great. I hope it shows it shooting out. Did you try blocking the flow with your thumb? Never mind.

That's what I was thinking originally with the pump's pressure relief stuck partially open, but apparently this pump doesn't have one.

Max, why don't you remove the spring and valve poppet from the filter head to make sure it isn't stuck, or if the spring isn't broken.

Ok I will give that a try. I took a video of the engine running with the mechanical gauge installed then removed the gauge to show the oil flow out the sending unit connection but can’t seem to get uploaded to my reply but will keep trying. Thanks

I assume Thomas showed you the video I sent him. I may be getting 1 pound of pressure on the mechanical gauge but that is it. I drove it around the yard for a little bit with the valve cover removed and I had some oil (not a lot but some) spitting up on me and the tractor. I am at a loss as to what to do next. The motor runs smooth, doesn't smoke much and I let it run for an hour with no problems. I have a gentleman who wants to by the tractor but I wouldn't want to sell it to him and it not be running right. Is it safe to sell it the way it is? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

IF, the pump is GOOD (shaft keyway and internal wear), the oil MUST go somewhere.
The pressure come from restriction of the little clearance between crankshaft, camshaft and rocker arm, bearings and bushing.
You can check your mechanical gauge by connecting to an air compressor. Both gauges should show "almost" the same.

I would NEED to get that oil pump in my hands before driving it around with 1lb of pressure. Also, I would have a hard time sleeping not knowing what the main and rod journals look like.

Ok I needed to hear that. Now I need to find a service dealer as close to me as I can. This work is starting to get well above my knowledge. I live in Northeast Ohio if anyone knows of a reputable dealer please let me know. Thanks
