I would recommend a set of Pallet forks. I use mine quite a bit ..

Move Slash Piles with them.
Fetched some 3/8" chipboard from the neighbor's that he gave me for my shed.
Used them to dig/pop out old stumps.
Wood Pellets Moved from back of pickup to Garage.. <That was sketchy>
Lifted back of Wife's car to rotate Tires

My only complaint is the visibility with FEL forks is not nearly as good as that with an actual forklift.

Tractor on.

I have a set for my BX2350, and I don't use them very often. When I do use them, they are pretty handy. One problem with them is a BX doesn't have much lifting power, so they won't lift anything much over a few hundred pounds. What I have used them for is carrying brush, which is amazing how much brush you can stack on the bucket and a set of forks. I also bought a generator, and when I got it home, I was trying to figure out how to unload it alone. Well, the pallet forks came in kind of handy for that, it made it easy.

good point on the lifting capacity. It does depend on how much you can lift as to whether or not to waste $$$ on a set of forks. My DK45 has a rated lift of 2,700# less the 400# that the forks weigh.

I didn't get a set until about 4 years ago and wondered how I got along without them. This past weekend I was moving my water tank (its an old 300 gallon fuel barrel) that I use for watering trees. It was empty and just needed to be picked up, turned 180 degrees and set back down in the wagon. I initially thought it could be done by hand. But then I remembered, my back has been bothering me some and I don't need to aggravate it again. So 3 minutes later I have the forks on and move the water tank with no adverse effect on my back.

So, if your 25 years old and in the best shape of your life, then perhaps skip the forks. But for the rest of us the cost of the forks will easily offset the cost of physical therapy, surgery, missed work, not to mention the pain of back injury.

Along with my grapple its the best money I've spent.

I've had a set of forks for 12 years and it's was on my "must have" list. They are available at a cheap price in comparison to other implements. Things I've done with my forks: Lifted logs, pushed and lifted brush piles, unloaded pallets off delivery trucks, carried a furnace, moved fuel tanks, lift boxes up on my loft constantly, made a man-lift basket for trimming trees, and the list goes on and on.

Forks are handy. And when you see the variety of containers made for forks, it's good to have a set. Now-a-days pallets are made of plastic. They don't rot and will last just about forever.

A few examples to show the variety...Limited by your imagination.

Dave...For some reason the Redbugs don't bother me like they used to. I think you can get an immunity to them. However, there's no better scratching that can be done when you got em...you know where...

There easily adjustable and tines lock in place where you set them.
Very good point. Whatever pallet forks you get, make sure the forks actually have some way to lock in place. You don't want them moving while in use. Most have locks, but just make sure. Mine has a spring pin that drops into one of several notches.
