I was the go-to PC guru back then. Established the first office network. Insisted on Ethernet instead of the TokenRing that HQ told us to use. A couple of years later my little Ethernet world integrated flawlessly into the Ethernet that HQ finally began, I had gotten it right. But now years later after I'm retired I keep a generation behind the current technology. Win7 until its no longer supported, etc.I still use some old DOS programs. Do all my bookkeeping on it and all my financial records. Simple and it works.
And related: You know you are getting old when you go into a thrift store and see duplicates of all the stuff you bought new years ago - and the stuff in the store is in better condition than what's in your home.
