Old Common, Day to Day Technology. Waht do you hang onto?

I miss sinks in public restrooms that worked... even the push button timed faucets work better than the sensor junk, have to try 4 sinks before one will turn on... and lets just say a quick word about auto soap dispensers... what do you do directly after dispensing soap? wash your hands... seems unnecessary although I could see the waste of soap being a purpose for them, we have the Cintas hand scrub at work in manual dispensers, 1-2 pumps will clean to your elbows if you add a little water since it is drier than the store stuff but most people at my work will use like 6 pumps...

And on the hand drier thing, the old ones warmed your hands before you dried them on your pants/shirt

Went to Habitat yesterday. Always looked foreward to using their large clean washroom. Still closed after six months or so. Asked why. Manager said he was tired of spending an hour a day cleaning it. People are GS!

I still use some old DOS programs. Do all my bookkeeping on it and all my financial records. Simple and it works. Old Ansonia mantel clock that has been in family over 100 years. Keep a old soldering iron. Old wind up Timex watch in my tool box in case we have a global outage of internet. First tool I ever personally owned, a pair of old rusted (almost beyond use) pliers I found when I was 4 years old. A old hand saw tooth setting tool I got when my Dad passed away. (some one took it some time ago) Rattle snake rattlers I took off a snake I shot when about 12.

I have a 19th century gravity clock in the living room. As long as Newton endures, it will keep time.

Some kids had car trouble out front of our house a few years ago, they were absolutely amazed by our old rotary dial wall phone.

I like the toaster (made before my Dad was born), and the lawn mower..... when I first saw the pic I thought snowblower...... but, things were "reel" back then !

I'm still stuck on old-fashioned hand-powered hammers, pliers, levels, tape measures, files, clamps etc.

Some of the cordless ones just don't seem to offer that much convenience ..

(the cordless butter knife I got for my Birthday is kinda cool, though.)

btw, I 'hang onto' 110v extension cords, only buy 12ga, and grab the shortest one for each task.

There's no charging time to wait out and one style seems to work with all my 110v tools. Not clever, just lazy.
