Hay, I wounder if he has ag tires on that becouse you guys told him that they would not rip up his grass any more them turfs?/w3tcompact/icons/hmm.gif Do they make a MMM for it? That would REALY cut down on the mowing time./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Just the heat rolling of that beast would keep the grass short, also those tire would push the grass down to mud worm level.

Sure would hate to pay the diesel bill each month on her. /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif

Mike,
I remember seeing a Big Bud tractor on a farm south of Sumner in the past. I wonder if that was the replacement one you mention.

With a large v-plow I doubt you would even need chains for it. The tractor weighs 47.5 tons so it has a lot of ground pressure making chains worthless.

I believe I heard them say it would burn 1/2 to 3/4 gallon per acre pulling the 80' cultivator.

Thats not bad. I got to use that mowing an acre of grass with my 14HP. But if I had an 80' mower I guess It would be running a lot less/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Grant,Yes I'm sure thats the same tractor. The folks that owned it were from that area.Big Bud had borrowed their tractor to take to K.C. as it was closer than bringing one in from the factory.

Mark_in_NH - Great picture! I sure would like to know what he was trying to accomplish with that rig - and whether or not he feels he succeeded... /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

I stumbled across the picture again this evening at antique tractors.com, the caption said it was made by a man in Nebraska out of 3 vintage JD 830's.
I would sure like to see how he managed hooking up the drive trains etc. so everything would work and shift from one location.
Makes me wonder if he really had a specific purpose in mind or if he is just one of those exceptionly creative individuals.
We had a man like that around here YEARS ago, he made a remote controled backhoe, installed an elevator in his house made from a old fork lift. He was always creating something.
