I saw the same program on Discovery. They were hauling these HUGE water tanks accross the ICE. It was unreal !

was watching on tv the other day a documentary about how tandem tractor trailers drive across the frozen lakes up in canada all winter. They can't exceed 15 mph because they create a wave under the ice in front of them and if it hits the shore as they approach it'll blow out the ice. Now THAT's some serious driving. Not for me.............

I've seen that show. Seems every once in a while some rookie decides to take it up to 20mph & finds out it isn't fun to swim in freezing water.

A couple of years ago, some teenagers hijacked a piece of earthmoving equipment one night at the edge of Lake Ray Hubbard in Dallas. They got it going and apparently jumped off of it before it hit the water. That machine went along the bottom of the lakebed for about 200 yards or so before it stopped. I heard that the insurance replacement cost was $450,000, and they spent over $200,000 getting it out. Seems like it was in about 20 feet of water. They floated a barge with a crane over to where it was and yanked it up. They had to reroute a major thoroughfare for about a month during this operation. I would liked to have watched them bringing it up, but I missed it. Happened about a mile from my office.

It may just be my area, but I've never seen a Kubota on a row crop farm?
