i see a lot of fear in some of these posts. fear of animals, and of those who may not be within your political belief system. your answer? kill as many animals that you feel encroach your space, and degrade those who are not aligned with your political beliefs. and by all means, carry a weapon where ever you go....my oh my.

isn't there enough hate & finger pointing going on in the country already right now? is it always some one else's fault?
& the 2nd amendment will never be repealed.

Not to mention the 2 legged wolves that prowl on the other side of our chain link fence.

Last year I shot a python, a corral snake, and a 80 lb. rottweiler all on my little farm.
(yes the police came) and thanked me !

I would hate someone telling me I had to carry a firearm to shoot snakes of any kind as much as having someone tell me I couldn't. Most of us on here probably appreciate elbow room and freedom more than the norm, otherwise we wouldn't live out of the big cities. I for one am glad to live in a state that recognizes this personal freedom in a country that mostly does. We have a wealth of knowledge on here but unfortunately it sometimes comes with judgement and pressure to join the others point of view. All I can say cheers to diversity and I sure as he// like getting a glimpse of other folks lives/lifestyles/places, while getting to live where and how I want!

Typical gun banner projection: If you want to protect yourself and/or family and property, you must live in "fear" or worse, must live in "hate". Simple and ignorant projection, nothing more.

The ones who really live in fear are those that hide behind words like "peace" and "love" because they know they don't trust themselves with a firearm. And since they can't trust themselves with a firearm, they have to denigrate those that can and do.

The most hateful people on the planet are liberal gun banners.

actually no one is suggesting banning guns (at least in my response), nor telling anyone what or what not to shoot. maybe just a different way of looking at the world. one would hope we could have that diversity & discussion without all the vitrol....no one is coming to take away your guns, my friend

although we probably are on opposite sides of the spectrum, i do wish you well & respect your constitutional right to bear arms, and freedom of speech, some of our most important rights as citizens.

my hope (& know i'm in the minority here) is that there is minimal suffering imposed on the world of creatures and humans as you execute your due right along the way. that's all

Oh, that never happens around here! You don't need to carry a weapon. Well someone does, and when they do it can save you some grief! This was apparently some truck driver who stopped in to kill some folks.

Off-duty police officer shoots armed man at Costco

LENEXA, KS. (KWCH) The Lenexa Police Department says they are investigating a shooting at Costco where an off-duty officer fatally shot an armed man, KCTV reports.

Police got the call about a man who was brandishing a firearm at the store located at 9350 Marshall. Witnesses said that the man was yelling and pointing a gun.

Officers arrived on scene to find the man had been shot by someone inside the store and he was pronounced to be dead.

After a brief investigation, police learned that an off-duty police officer, who was shopping had engaged the man inside the store and fatally shot him.

I almost always carry and am comfortable doing that. A dilemma in my mind is what to do if someone waves his gun around and is hollering like this guy, but not shooting. I probably would give him the first shot as long as it wasn't directed at me or mine. But, maybe not?

Very difficult situation. I would not let him point his gun at anyone, regardless of whether it was me or not. Fortunately the LEO felt the same way. I would assume everyone in the immediate area approve.

If he is not threatening you or your family and no shots are fired, its best to just take cover or leave the area.

The mess you face in the aftermath with the low down, slimy, piece of sh-- lawyers coming at you is not worth it.

I know where I draw the line, and its my family first.

What an off duty police officer can get away with & what you or I can get away with are VASTLY different.
The same laws read different.

What an off duty police officer can get away with & what you or I can get away with are VASTLY different.
The same laws read different.

And that is were the problem lies. I have a problem with the different strokes for different folks. what is considered a threat to a police officer is considered different that what is considered a threat to a normal citizen.
