Mark, I don't know if that would work or not.

That may give a different impression than you're trying to convey.

I had to carry a welder up about 270 steps to the top of the roller coaster at West Edmonton Mall to do some repairs. If I would have had to take a transformer machine up there, I would have quit a lot sooner. They had a 130 amp inverter that was perfect for that application. All we had to do was bring up a long 220 volt power cable.
