call and have the utilities located before digging,

and is it the school board in approval on this, and get the products signed off on by an official of the school if you use pressure treated materials or paint or any thing that has chemicals, latterly have them sign a form that says it is approved,
and I would try to get some type of sheet/statement that limits your liability, in the construction process, and after words, (even possibly making you a school employee for the time you work on it, even if it is voluntary) the liability is on them more than on you.

IF little Johnny get a splinter of a pressure treated wood and it get infected or he is allergic to the treatment. even if there is no damage in the long run, with the legal system it could be come hazardous to your future, look a the cost of play ground equipment, and I would bet 50% of the cost is liability,

Merry go rounds, open long slides, tall swings, I do not even know if teeter totters, are found on play grounds, to day,

I know that it is a shame that that one wants to do good, and the laws and legal system make it so hard,

just proceed with caution,

I was going to used my BX24 to raise and set them in the hole.

Here is a pic of a 14' post on a 5030 chained to a grapple for stability to ponder if you BX is up to the job.

Good.points on limiting your liability. Do whatever is necessary with the school board to assure that.

Regarding construction, I think you need to see if there is another dad or two to help, at least with the.poles. I think 2 or 3 guys and a BX can get it done. Consider nailing a 2x4 across the post about in the middle. A guy on each side with loader and chain up higher to get it in the air.

I would suggest concrete around the post.

Those are my suggestions.

You are probably going to need some horizontal 2x4's or 4x4's to provide reinforcement to make it solid..
Just fastening the plywood on the ends would not be very sturdy IMO..

Good luck..

I hadn't noticed that the design didn't include them.

But you can bet that kids will climb the back.

A BX won't think twice about standing up a 16' pole. Put a flat board at the back of the hole and the tip of it on top of the hole, lift the BX bucket up a few feet, lift the end of the 6x6 up and put it on, and drive forward all while raising the loader. A simple loop of chain loosely around it to keep it on the bucket if necessary. This is how I stood up my 35' steel pole.

Have you done anything yet? I'm local and was able to set 22' telephone poles with my 110 deere by myself for my barn. Let me know if I can help.

Definitely use concrete on the posts
Pressure treated wood will not hold paint until it drys out some.
Four foot span for the plywood would lead to warping of the boards
Because the kids could climb framing, I would place one plywood horizontal and the next vertical and screw and glue them together

In today's world, I would not touch that project with a 10 (or even 12) foot pole. Just wait for little Johnny to try to climb it, fall and break an arm or leg. LET THE SUING BEGIN. You have to remember that nowadays, any and everything bad that happens is not the victims fault. It's someone else's fault, and they will sue that someone else for everything they have now, and hope to have in the future.
