Snow Equipment Owning/Operating operating a 3 point blade in snow

   / operating a 3 point blade in snow #21
I live in the central part of South Carolina and sometimes we get a little snow, but it is a rare occurrence.

A question for you guys up in snow country that have snow experience...have any of you tried using a landscape rake for snow removal? How well would one work in a pinch? I don't have a rear blade...

Spent last evening hooking up new tsc 6 ft blade to quick hitch in my loader bucket.3POINT WAS TOO WIDE!! Only by an inch.So i cut one arm offf and moved it so 3 point would fit.I know it sounds crazy to go hacking up a brand new implement but it is a nice 14 inch tall blade, and its inexpensive.I aint got no pics yey but OMG DOES IT EVER WORK SLICK!!!!!Worked ok forward, but even better backwards.Alittle down pulls up icy packed down stuff only a chisel would get,IN ONE PASS! When it piled up,id push it off drive with back of blade, even then it worked great.Able to change angle of blade by tilting bucket. And you push up snowbanks,i can push them UP 10 feet with the blade in the bucket!Thats great for my little bx ,that only lifts so far. Also went down my tractor path, and was able to "wing back" the bankings, making a shelf to plow more snow.Ive made up my mind...Its gonna be a rear snowblower, cab, and this little jewel up front for me next winter.Ill get some pics for you guys this weekend.Theres a thread on here somewhere on how i hooked it up in my bucket[holes for toothbar and a chain and bucket hook] Easy to install in minutes.PICS COMING SOON

TCowner,
As long as the new tractor has the same cat 1, 3 pt hitch and the I-Match is the same model, then you will just have to drill the hole for the top J-hook of the I-Match on the plow (look at the prev pics) I think it's 3 inches lower than the original hole, but double check your self.
I'm lucky, so far I've been able to adapt all my implements to the I-Match-the ballast box which required no mods, an old off brand HD box scrapper which required a good deal of mod, a land pride rake that already had the lower hole drilled for the top J-hook, the plow with one hole mod, a set of front forks just done this past week (see attached pic) and my latest project a pto generator carrier that came this week unable to connect to the I-Match.
How many Horse power will your new tractor have? and is it a cat 1 3pt hitch?

JB4310, The 4720 is rated at 50 pto horsepower which is probably about the most horsepower in a category 1 hitch tractor. But it is definately a category 1 hitch. In addition to the #45 blade I have an aftermarket 6' box blade and a JD 25A flail mower that I will need to convert. I have a friend with the Imatch and I've decided I'm done fighting three point attachments after watching how easy he switches from one to another.

Now I still have a Work Saver post hole digger that will still cause me problems but I hope to have everything else converted. Thanks for the great pictures.
