Keep the B21. It can do 90% of what a B26 can do. Go Bigger or stay home.

Hi Carl: I can't comment on the black soot - but all the service on my L-47 has been done by our local Kubota dealer in Milford, NH (where I bought it). It currently has a white oil filter on it - but I seem to recall that they may have put a grey filter on it when they did an oil change. I will look thru my old photos to see if I can verify this. I would think think that if you could buy this machine in the ballpark of $25K - it would be a fair deal.
Friend just stole a 4 year old L47, with 750 hours for $40K, and that was a true good price. I would not sell my L39 for $30K

Mike - I am keeping mine - it now has QA FEL, Pallet Forks, 3rd function, Hydraulic Thumb, and a Grapple to help me out. Then added new 3PT adjustable arms to replace the old bent screw type makes putting on things a lot easier.

Keep what is not broken or not repairable.

Yes, Mike agreed the B21 is 90% of the B26 thats why I decided to modify existing.

Snowplow this week and found it locally in NH for a decent price $1K - no hydraulics - manual adjust, but I have sourced the cylinder and hoses. Had the first run today with a light snowfall and it worked well - gotta keep some weight on the front.

If you keep it manual, keep an eye on the pin used to angle it. Mine kept getting harder to pull out and readjust the angle. Finally noticed the bottom end bent a bit so I ground the bump off. Works ok for now, and a replacement is on the parts list next time at the dealer. Jon

Everytime I see a setup like your photo of the snowplow, I look at those hocky puck sliders and I wonder,
"What if those two sliding pucks were castered wheels that rolled instead of slid, and located back at the SSA adapter plate instead of up at the blade...?"
Would that work better on grass or dirt drives?

Thanks - the pin was indeed bent, and the holes second one in Left and Right are elongated - essentially the webbing collapsed making the last hole an oval.

Was able to get the pin straightened and free, and then found the grease fitting on the center pin - never was used :) so now the plow swings free and easy.

Finding the cylinder was a chore - why did Kubota make a custom cylinder 13" closed x 19" extended with 7/8" and 3/4" pins? Then want $721 for a new one - ouch. Found a NOS on ebay for $200.. so all good now.

Finally got the new cylinder - took 16 days via usps to get here. Its an oem cylinder so fit very well

Also it’s winter and a good time to get the leaking piston on the backhoe stabilizer repaired - Kubota wanted $100 for seal kit - e-parts had them for 40 so got two.
