Years ago when I was in the USAF I was running a 15k forklift during an exercise. I ran this thing for every exercise and accumulated many hours on it. During those hours I also accumulated a few close calls and had gained a fair amount of respect for this thing. Anyhoo, the Staff Sgt assigned to supervise the moving of several large containers into a hanger insisted on driving the forklift. On the 2nd container move, this one intended to stack, he entered the hanger with the container already lifted. The lifting rack is probably 15ft high and connected squarley with the top of the hanger door top rail. Holy cow what a racket! The container luckily stayed on , the lift chains rattled violently, and the whole hanger shook! Talk about 'KaBoom'! No one hurt except for some non-commissioned pride.
