Had a Cummins 3500 SRW Dodge. Loved the Cummins. Thought the truck was great until I lost it in a fire and replaced it with a SD because that's what I could find. No more Dodge/Ram for me. Drive quality, ride quality and cab quality just isn't there. But I'm glad people like them.Oh boy, you just don’t realize how much better the Ram Cummins pulls a load. I realize trucks do more than just pull loads, but I’m not kidding when I tell you the difference between my Ram 5500 and my F-550 is night and day. The truck itself is just as nice, if not nicer than the Ford. Ram gives you an incredible list of features, even with the Tradesman line.
Dont test drive one, you’ll forget your Ford forever. I was like you, thought Ford was the best. Then I went over to the dark side. No plans on coming back. Pulls so strong, loaded with comfort features. Really comfy seats.
20 years ago, a 5.9L Cummins would easily outpull a 7.3. today, a new Cummins 6.7 will outpull a Ford 6.7. It’s the in-line six configuration. It makes more torque down low and off pedal than a V-8.
Also, get better fuel mileage and give you a true medium duty rating doing it, too![]()
I have no complaints concerning MPG. I've never reset either cab indicator. Both are over 16. Probably reality is 15. I'm fine with that.
