Yeah those trucks are perfect for light work you’re doing.
You never did find me those two Cummins trucks for $25K that could take care of my light work in a better fashion than I currently do. I'll wait....

Here’s a 9000 with a M11 and 10 speed but it has a 10 foot gravel bed. Virtually every 9000 I’ve seen for sale has the same bed configuration and I wanted a 14 foot bed with low sides. And they’re asking 19k which I could pay if it was what I wanted. I could probably buy a 9000 tractor for 5-10k but I don’t see doing a frame stretch, adding a pto and hydraulics and adding a dump bed for any less than 20k.

That size bed is typical for a 6 wheeler. Upfitters know that 5 yards of sand will fit and load that truck to max gvw. A 14' bed is 10 wheeler territory. I recommend you look for a farm truck with a flatbed dump. They usually come in about 16'-18'. Farmers usually have lighter, bulky loads, so it works for them.

Keep on waiting. I’ll get back to you soon. It’s a top priority lol
Off the top of my head, I think just one Cummins truck could do a much better job than either, but opinions are like ——————-.
And we both know the used truck market is probably 50-100% higher than 2 years ago.
No need for the secret squirrel stuff.

I think a lot of them are higher HP big cubes single axle road tractors converted to 6 wheel excavators dumps. The small operator excavators like the higher power for pulling a backhoe, trackhoe, etc.
A single axle with an M11, N14, 855, etc is a great truck. Would be my preference over “vocational power” or CAT.

Yeah, that's what I thought.

I got a truck with the bed I wanted. I just had to compromise for less power than I wanted.

I wanted a bed with more volume for hauling lighter stuff than gravel and I wanted lower sides for easier loading with smaller equipment. Fold down sides that were still sturdy enough to take a beating would have been my preferred choice but I didn’t get that.

Nothing wrong with that set up…. except the cab color lol Everything else looks good!
Almost all vocational trucks are lower HP. They are cheaper to buy as manufacturers charge for horsepower and they don’t want employees grenading drivelines with big power.

That one is set at 245 and a little over 600 fp which is probably better than average.

I see 215-250 as the average. So yeah, you are in the zone.
Those trucks really need 300+ to make them go, but in some ways, keeping the power down keeps them slow and in the right lane where they belong.
A buddy of mine who I drive a Pete for would order his own trucks and spec them out with more azz than a typical truck. They were a kick to drive.
