Ordered a 5045E

I have 300 odd hours on it now. Ive talked about it a lot in other threads especially snow removal ones. Except for a problem with the 3PH which I caused by over loading it it has been good.

Guess I am going to have to do a search to see what else you have written on it. I am very interested since I just ordered a new one. Should be here in a couple of weeks. Am I going to wish I got a Kubota instead? Sure hope not. Anyway, that plow you rigged up appears to be the cats meow! I have a nice rear blade but that really looks like it would push some snow. Do you ever wish you would have got one with the exhaust below instead of above. I am in what appears to be a similar location with lots of woods and trees. How did you overload your 3ph?

Hooked onto a big log that was frozen in at twenty below by the 3PH crossbar in the raised position. when I came to the end of the chain the log didn't move but something went inside the tractor. After that the arms would settle down as soon as I shut the engine down and I could not pick up any implement with it.
The plow is just a Fisher eight footer with wings hooked to an adapter plate I had built. The third function on the loader runs the swing cylinders. Works pretty good as long as you stay off of big rocks.

vtsnowedin , Another question on the hood or grill guard! Can you tell me what the width of the front of your tractor is where it would bolt on? I have one spotted and I think it is the right one but I can't find anywhere on the net that has the dimensions listed. Thanks allot!

Mine is 26 inches wide.

Is that the width at the widest point or where the bracket attaches? I am most interested in finding out the inside measurement of where it attaches. I am thinking and hoping it is around 21 and 1/2 inches or so. Thanks so much for the help!

That is the grate itself so it is the inside measurement between the brackets. I have My grate taken off as it fuzzys the headlights for night work in snow. You might check here.

Ya, I have been there numberous times. doesn't give me any measurements. It is the main hood guard that I am interested in learning the width of the bracket where it attaches to the tractor, not the grate or grill guard part. The part that is bolted onto the frame of the tractor is what I am after. Hope that makes sense. I appreciate your help! I think the part number is BW15817

Well yesterday when you asked it was raining like a cow on a flat rock and the tractor is parked outside two hundred yards away. I just went down in the basement and measured the grill where I had it hung up. Today I'm using the tractor as a big green wheel barrow so I just put a tape on it for you. The brackets are 21 and 1/4 inches apart and each side has three two inch pipe spacers between the frame and the brackets. Apparently the hood guard fits some bigger tractors just by using shorter or no spacers.

Oh my, the plot thickens! Thanks allot for your efforts in doing this for me. The two inch pipe spacers has me puzzled. Would that mean the actual width of the tractor itself where the unit attaches is only about 21.25 less 4 inches or 17.25?
OK, I think I get it now by looking at this picture of one. If I look close, I see the spacers you are referring to. Never even thought about using spacers so I think the one I am looking at might work after all.
