She's Here She's Here!!! :cool2:Came in late Wednesday afternoon and as I predicted it will take longer to set her up as ordered then first promised. A couple of parts kits that that they somehow thought would just appear by themselves without being ordered. Who would think that a block heater or a third function FEL kit might need to be ordered at the same time as a base tractor.:confused3:
Anyway they say I can have it late Monday which means I can try her out on the fourth of July. Makes her a very patriotic tractor I think.
I'm having the front tires set out as wide as possible to match the rears with the four inch extensions and set out into the widest configuration. It should make for a wide stance, big butted tractor ,when I post the pictures.

I'd worry about setting the front wheels out on a loader tractor. The 553 is a big loader for this size tractor and it will basically flatten the front tires at full load. With the front wheels set out that is putting a tremendous amount of strain on the front hubs, king pins and housing. IIRC there is even mention in the manual for max front tread setting with a loader. Regardless, sounds like a nice setup you are getting. I know I enjoy using the 5045e at our families farm, lots of tractor for the money.

Well I don't have a manual as yet so I don't know what it says. I don't think there is that much adjustment available on the front axle and you certainly wouldn't want to add any extensions. When the dealer offered to adjust them out I assumed he meant to the maximum recommended for that loader setup but I will certainly double check it before tackling any huge piles of gravel etc.

Well I'm twiddling my thumbs waiting for Monday to come so I spent some time trying to pull up operators manuals for the 5045E. Not much luck with that but I did find one for the 553 loader. In a word it stinks. It is a power point presentation where each slide has a title line and you have to open each slide individually and each topic is limited to the number of characters a power point slide can hold.
I hate power point presentations. They are a lousy way to convey information and their shortcomings are well documented. Anyone that insists on inflicting another one on me is immediately relegated to the pool of stupid people.

Here's the online version of the manual: OMSJ301048

It says that for max front axle load the front tread setting can't be wider than 71". That is a good bit wider than ours is set, but not the max.

Thanks for the link. Lots of good reading there. I expect that they will set it to 71 but will check it. The rears will be at 79 so front and rear should both track in a sixteen inch furrow.

Well it still isn't ready .
The build your own and order programs say to order eight bolts per axle extension which they did but come to find out they need sixteen as the bolts that came on the hub are not long enough to reach the threads in the extension. I wonder if they flipped the extension around the other way the short OEM bolts would work? Anyway it will be next weekend before I can get it home and start work. I need to pick up a good and large torque wrench to retorque the wheel bolts as recommended.

Sooo, I came upon this thread and it appears it ended on 7/3/2012. Would love to hear how your tractor turned out. I just ordered a new 5045E too!

I have 300 odd hours on it now. Ive talked about it a lot in other threads especially snow removal ones. Except for a problem with the 3PH which I caused by over loading it it has been good.
