Dang you got enough iron to start a dealership there. I take it you're using them in a commercial enterprise?

Congrats of the new tractor. I find it to be an awesome machine. I was hauling dirt with my 7040 yesterday and it was really impressive....and a lot of fun.

Congratulations on your new tractor, the M7040 is a really nice tractor and you are going to love that cab. Did you get the hydraulic shuttle shift?

i have a property maintenance company specializing in large commercial and industrial properties.

looking forward to trying it out, we are supposed to get some snow on tuesday.

yes the loader does have a float position, and also has a 3rd function control right on the joy stick
here are a couple pics of my other snow machines

RJM,

Mind if I ask why you didn't go with a JD? Seems like you've been a pretty loyal buyer for a good while.

I know when I bought my M5040, I didn't go with JD because the green paint was really expensive. Well at least to get the transmission I wanted I would have had to step up to the 65hp 5065M and it was much more.
I also thought the Kubota dealer was better than the local JD Dealer.

Just to be fair to the JD fans the 5065 is a lot more tractor. :D

robb71,

i have no complaints about the john deeres i own. i had been looking at a jd 5083e and the m7040. both dealers quoted me about the same price back in november and out of the blue the kubota dealer called me last week and offered to sell me the tractor for a substantial amount less so i jumped on the opportunity. i have been running the kubota zd331s for a few years now and have no complaints so ill figured i'd give the m7040 a try.

tripleR,

We used a synchro shuttle for 12 years before trading it in on the M8540 and love the hydraulic shuttle. Even though we have had it for a few months, I occasionally find myself hitting the foot clutch though; old habits die hard.

we have a jd5520 with a power reverser and i sometimes hit the clutch for the first couple min of operation because im used to shifting the 2555. and even worst than that when i get in the 4520, which has a hydro trans, after running the 2555 i sometimes find myself reaching for the shifter

So true, funny; my son and I spent several days this summer working on one of our farms bush hogging with the L5030 and M8540. When I needed to swap out tractors, I would have him pull up beside and facing him. We would change tractors while running. The first time we did it, I had to sit there for a little to figure out how to get it moving and looked up to see him staring down doing the same thing; we both laughed. Pretty much each time we repeated the same process. I can't imagine doing that with as many tractors as you have; well I can, but it wouldn't be pretty.
