Talking to dealer about ordering a L6060. They said time frame was about a year. Is that pretty Accurate? Thanks

Wow! I know things are crazy but that is unbelievable. I sure hope things improve faster than that.

When I ordered mine in 2019 I was told it would be about 6 months and I think it took about that long ..... maybe a bit longer.

What you heard is consistent with the current experience of others writing here.

The dealer is closer to Kubota than those of us writing here.

The dealer WANTS TO SELL YOU A KUBOTA.

Why would the Kubota dealer give you misinformation in this case?

Ask the dealer to check Kubota inventory on Grand L models with <60 horsepower.

Because the dealer "wants to sell you a Kubota" and will tell you what you want to hear in order to get you to make a deposit.

Dealer will deal with delayed delivery when the time comes.

My dealer put order in, without any deposit. Ordered in June, expected deliver some time after February. Was able to lock in all rebates and financing offers from the date ordered.

I got very lucky.. I put an order in for one and they told me at least 6 months. But two days later, after I had put my down payment in, they had someone that ordered one back out that week they were suppose to pick it up. So I got mine in just under a week... But yes, seems to be at least 6 months out for a new tractor usually.

I drove past the Kubota dealership in Tyler today and they only had one tractor on the lot. An open cab, 4x4 with a loader. I'm guessing it was in the 40 to 50 hp range by it's size. That one tractor sitting there really makes me wonder about how things are going right now.

While visiting my local CNH/Kubota dealership yesterday, I chatted with my most trusted salesman acquaintance. He told me that their Kubota regional salesperson had visited a day or so earlier informing them that anything ordered now would be delivered in about 12 months, confirming that so-called supply chain issues are continuing to worsen.

Eddie as you know I'm in the pyrotechnics industry. We import directly from the Chinese factories. Last year for 2021 we recieved only one of containers out of 3 prior to July 4th. Finally got the 3rd container last Sept 10 months after ordering. This year things have not improved much and our door to door shipping per 40ft container from China to my business in Missouri has increased from $16,000 per container to $41,000.

With the same garbage inside as well. Bet they come in OOCL containers too.

Even though I farm with Kubota Large Frame tractors, one of my friends owns the Kioti Dealership in Monroe, Michigan and we taking bout the import thing the other day.

He told me Kioti has adopted a minimal floorplan philosophy and they want a customer to put a deposit down with a signed contract before they will even build a unit for the customer. I head Mahindra was doing the same deal. We have a new Branson dealer up town and he's tractorless presently.

Times are changing and not for the good either.

Tractor sales in the up to 100 HP classes have been out of sight the past 2 years, and although some might have final assembly in USA, components like engines and transmissions are sourced mainly from Japan, Korea and India. Can’t blame the tractor shortages COVID or transportation alone when the manufacturers sold 25% more tractors in 2020 than they did in 2019. Sales numbers are out of sight high. Having spent 43 years manufacturing ag and construction equipment, the only way we could have met the 2021 demand would have been by several bad years in a row so inventory would have stacked up. That didn’t happen. I completed the trade, my L6060 for a M5-111 I had on order since August and it finally arrived in December. The L6060 is still in my machine shed waiting for weather to improve but I’ve made trips to the shed taking pictures for the dealer due to the used demand for my L6060.

I was at my dealers yesterday and talking to the salesman there. He told me that if I was to order a new L6060 today, it would take about 18 months to get here. Then who knows how long to actually get off the ship and transported to him.

I'm curious. Do you think that wait will make anyone consider a used L6060? Or some other tractor?

I suspect by 'get here' he means total transit time to his dealership and I'd say that is about correct.

Like I've said elsewhere, the 'I want it now' attitude that people seem to have today, has gone to I will have to wait for it. It's also why the used tractor market is exponentially increasing in price. Only so many to choose from and especially few pre 4 units to choose from so prices are commensurate with demand.

Absolutely. I am sure there are a lot of circumstances where someone has an immediate need for a tractor and couldn't wait that long for a new one.

In 2019, I waited about 6 months to get mine but I had another tractor to use while I was waiting. I looked for a used one but there were none around my area or even close and I wasn't going to spend a bunch of money to have an unseen, used tractor shipped across the country. The options are even more limited now.

When I got my MX6000 in the Fall I had to be flexible. I initially sent in builds for the L4701 and MX5400 for quote and was promptly told they had neither and didn't know when they would but they had two MX6000s they could build to my specs for an extra $1300. I jumped on it and told him I'd pay cash and have the money in a month or two. He put the thing aside for me, no contract and no deposit. First purchase from that dealership too. I'm so thankful I got what I wanted so quickly after reading all these woes.

In December 2020 I bought a JD 4066R. The dealer was able to get one from another dealer. Total delivery time (except for the delayed Nokian tires.) was about a month.

In December 2021 I bought a Kubota KX-040 mini excavator. The day I signed a unit was delivered to the dealership. The salesperson put my name on it and delivery was within weeks.

I think I got really lucky...twice! :)
