Nice deer Rob! I've seen does the past two evenings on stand. I blew the shot yesterday, and about an hour ago I was watching a run, and happened to be looking about 80 yards away when a good doe appeared 20 yards away. I the breeze was pretty fickle, and she caught my scent, and bounced away in the thick stuff. I could have shot I guess, but I don't like the odds that close to dark. We had 3 "any deer" days here in my zone, and today was the last one. Time to get serious now........ :D

I have never been fussy about the deer I have killed. In other words, I kill the first deer that I see that gives me a clean shot and kill. Therefore, I have killed some small deer. Much like this one...but isn't she tasty.!! Wow, yum.

Looks like a good, fat eater jdgreengrass! Nice 770 too:cool: The Idaho fish and game decided this year that we shouldn't kill does except for a very short few days in November in the general rifle season. We are beyond flush with deer in this part of Idaho with the combo of the farms surrounded by forests and select logging practices creating wildlife habitat. Looks like a well placed no meat wasted shot was taken:D

Illinois deer hunting is NOWHERE what it used to be. The state is interested in cash made on selling permits (over $400 for nr) more than in the health of the herd. Layoff CO's .... sell more permits.... take $ and put it in the state coffers for anything except wildlife. It took hours and hours..... days and days just to have one this size get close enough for a shot with the bow. 5-10 years ago this little guy would have been safe.

I'm not hunting but my Neice in WI got this one during last month's 2-day youth hunt. Dressed out at 170#.

My brothers were part of the protest against the "earn-a-buck" program last year. Reading the posts here it seems like every state's wildlife dept is working feverishly to either grow or deplete their deer populations. Bunch of BS when you need a lawyer to interpret the regs and a laser scan of the rack to tell if you are legal. Deer per hunter and length of season should be enough.

Nice deer! With that new weight box you'll have to look for a bigger one next time so that you can keep the tractor ballanced. LOL

I sure do love having a loader for working on an animal. While I haven't shot a deer on my land since buying it, I have killed quite a few hogs. I never realized how handy the loader would be for working on them. Instead of bending over, I just lift it higher!!!! I gut in one place, then drive to another to skin. It's the greatest thing ever. hahaha

Here's a recent picture from my game camera. I'm guessing there is around 20 hogs in this group from looking at 120 pictures of them over the last three days. They are coming in at the same time and sticking around for an hour or so. My Father In Law and Brother In Law are going to spend the night in my blind with a spot light tomorrow night to try and get one of them. Here, they are such a problem that it's legal to hunt them at night with a spotlight. In fact, just about anything you can think of to kill them is legal except poisoning them. And with permits, that's legal too!!
