OK...i know that Cub has showed these units so I am going to go ahead and post this...

New 600 series tractors. Completely new tractor (made in house by Cub) with a Cat. diesel. You prob. all know that Cub currently uses a Cat. in the 7284. The problem with the 7284 is that the extra weight of the Cat. diesel added with a FEL caused many a problem for Cub. I personnaly have never sold one of these units (hard to justify having three different compact brands on the lot) but have seen/drove a 7284 and its an impressive machine. For the 6000 series they have "beefed" up the front axle...and although it is going down a series (numerically) it is a better tractor than the 7000 series...so good we ordered 10 on preseason...hope I can sell the things!

There will be a new model in the 1000 series line up. It will be a "big" 1000 series with huge Hp (26 or 28, forgot wich) and a huge 54" deck...again cast iron trans. on 1000 series for 2005 with spin on filter too.

Now for the big one...the all new Cub "Z-Wing". Sure some of you are familiar with the Tank commercial mower...well they took one of those, narrowed the frame, gave it a 48" deck...but heres the cool part...it will fit through a 36" gate. The sides of the deck actually fold up mechanically and the total width of the machine is 35.5". No more walk behinds needed, nobody wants to walk...no more worrying about getting through the "standard 36" gate". It really is an impressive machine. Probably will really kill the walk behind market. Professionals will love them too...you can fit 4 of these units in the space it takes for one Tank with a 60" deck to go on a standard trailer...they had it set up at the dealer show to prove it. We ordered a bunch of these too...

Thats it for now. If you have any questions don't be afraid to ask. Good shopping to ya!

Its so nice to have someone as knowledgeable on cubs in the forum. Im torn between the GT2186 and the new GT3100. Both units are far more than I need but not more than I want. Do you know of any changes to the GT2186 other than the black frame which I assume is new for the entire Cub line.??

The GT3100 is new to me anyone have any info? it's the first i've heard of this model.

Look here now...I own a GT3100 and bought it because I needed a riding garden tractor that could stand up to hilly terrain and tree roots that would occasionally bump the front end. My neighbor has gone through 3 in the last year so it was impotant that I own a tough garden tractor. My yard isn't big enough to go to a 3pt hitch tractor with rear pto(2 acres). So I chose a riding garden tractor that was well built. First, this tractor weighs twice as much as the biggest 50" Cub Cadet sold at our local Home Depot. This is because it has a 9 gauge steel frame, all metal hood and sides, cast iron transmission and cast iron front end. The only higher rated Cub Cadet Garden Tractor is the 25 HP GT3200 with locking differential. The GT3100 is 23HP and has no locking differential. When you get stuck in mud the locking differential I hear can help get you out of muddy situations.

I of course pamper my GT3100. I don't mow in periods of wet grass. Must be dry. I don't like runnning over roots either so I mark mine in white so I can see them. Still, I occasionally run over the damm things.

The GT3100 is mammoth in size and is larger than my Ford YT-16 Garden Tractor of yesteryear. Overall length is 74 inches. Wheelbase is 49.5".
This tractor has only one belt. The deck belt that drives the three 50" blades. The deck gets power from the garden tractor through a drive shaft. So no belt to change out there. One belt means less trouble down the road with belt slippage or broken drive belts. The engine is a Kolher Command V-Twin 23Hp which has a proven record of reliability. In fact, I have a 23 year old Ford YT-16 tractor that has a Kolher engine in it. Never had any problems. The transmission is going out though so I decided to make the leap of faith.

This Cub tractor is built like a tank but with speeds up to 8 mph. Faster than anything I have owned before. Very nice cut off my 50" blades which are also heavy duty. Tractor has nice headlights. Very strong.

The cost of my tractor new was $3950 with 50" Cub Cadet Deck. I got this well below my local market of 7890 with tax. If your looking for a life long garden tractor, I would go with this Cub Cadet. I'm confident this will be the last riding tractor I will ever own. After reviewing the Cub Cadets and John Deeres, I'm convinced that I made a smart decision.

I also like the easy clean jet system on the deck which keeps my underdeck
clean. All I do is use the easy attachment that goes onto my waterhose and then fits on the deck. I start up the tractor and engage the pto with the water on and shazzam...the deck gets clean. The tractor has a deep cup holder, and NASA shuttle front end and the side of the engine are covered unlike many of the other tractors.

Go to a Hiome depot and you can see how poor tractor hoods swayed my decision to go with steel tractor hoods. I couldn't hold my head high knowing that the plastic tractor hoods can warp and fit like that after numerous opening and closings. This tractor does have an easy lift hydrolift system that raises or lowers the deck with ease. The deck is easy to maintain and has easy adjustments for mower deck height. :)

Isn't there a belt that drives the shaft on the 3K series?
$3950 for a brand new 3100 with a 50" deck? That's the deal of the century there.

Yes looking at the C&G parts blowup, there are two (a double set) of short V-belts on the 3100's PTO mechanism that drive the shaft that goes down to the deck. Still a sweet deal, the 3000's look to be one of the toughest new GT's out there :)

Thanks FL, that's what I thought. A shorty set of double V's for the PTO and the spindle drive belt for the deck. 3 belts total in mowing format. $3950 is still hard for me to believe though as a new 2550 costs that much if not more. Dealer cost on a 3100 series + deck has got to be way more than that.

If I could get new GT3100's for $3950 I would buy two, and would be for sure done with buying yard tractors for the rest of my lawn mowing life :)

I stand corrected. You are right about the double V-belts. I bought the tractor with .8 hours on it. Never mowed a thing. I was lucky to get it. I'm looking for a grass collector now. I wonder if the 190-100-192 can be modified to fit the GT3100?
