hi rob, well stanwood mi if you look at the lower peninsula i'm just a tad to the west of the dead center of the mitten. i'm 50 miles north of Grand Rapids, and about 55 miles east of lake michigan, we aren't in the snow belt anymore like we used to be when i was a kid. i used to walk up hill both ways to school and had to shovel snow 3ft deep all the way there and back. not really, /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif but now a days we are very lucky, we get about half of what they get 40 miles to the north, we get just enough snow to be a pain in the butt every time it snows in michigan, but not enough to ride the snowmobiles for more than a couple of days and then the trails are shot. this is the truth, when i was younger we used to get our snowmobiles stuck all the time and had to help get the lead sleds going to break trail. but those were old snow jets, rupp's, yamaha's, polaris' and once in awhile a ski-doo would show up to go with us. well thanks for the post. have a good one. lar /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Mine just arrived at the dealer, 3320 w/cab etc., with all the bells, and I did the whisles. It was like the dealer said, "I think your going to like this one." Now I'm having to wait on fel and mmm. Well worth the long wait though.

Okay, Lar, how come I can't place Stanwood? I used to live in Newaygo county, about 7 miles south of Fremont, northwest of a little burg called Grant. When people down here in Buckeye land asked me where I lived, I always said "about 50 miles north of Grand Rapids, about 35 or 40 miles inland". You'd think I'd know where Stanwood is.

Okay, I checked Mapquest. I'd have known where you meant if you said it was about 15 miles east of White Cloud! Look at a map and find Fremont. Run south to where 82 turns to Newaygo, but keep going south. About halfway between that corner and Bridgeton is a little place that isn't named on the map known locally as the 7 mile Inn, with a small general store across the street. I lived about 1/4 north of the Inn. The guy who used to live in the place north of mine was an ex-circus/vaudeville performer who kept ailing circus animals at his place. At one time he had a gorilla in the barn, another time a full grown lion in the pasture, such as it was. He once rode his camel down to the Inn late on a Saturday night and parked it outside, then went in and sat near the window to watch those had enjoyed a couple too many beers go out and react to the camel! It was an interesting neighborhood. Just to keep this tractor oriented, another neighbor had lost his driver's license due to overpatronizing places like the Inn. He just drove his tractor to the bar instead! I kinda miss living in Michigan. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Hi Rob, well Stanwood MI is about 50 miles north of Grand Rapids MI on old 131, we are also about 35 miles west of Mt. Pleasent MI. Thanks for the kudo's on my new tractor, now I'm waiting on all of the rest of the stuff to come in at the dealer. When it does I'll post some pic's of it (with Bloomington Mikes help). I think that you'll like what you see at that time. take care and enjoy the snow plowing. BTW I finally got some time on mine this morning, I plowed my driveway with my old back blade, I'm in the process of fabricating an old jeep snow plow into a quick detach plow for the front of my loader. When I paint it I'm darn sure going to paint the backblade (it's just plain ugly) cause it sure is a shame to see it on a new tractor. Well take care, & have a great week.

Crazylare, I see you got your tractor from Voelkers I'm looking for a 2305, who did you deal with there? I've been in the dealership many times to buy small items on my up to the cottage and have always liked the store.

Thanks Rob.

My dealer says that he can hook up the backhoe to the rear (third) SCV valve and then make some sort of a block to hold the lever in the open position. As long as I don't have a need for that valve for some other implement while the backhoe is on, he thinks it should work out just fine.

Any thoughts on whether that makes sense?

hey there, the person that is the best to deal with imho is David Van Alstine, he's honest, sincere, and doesn't mess around with dickering, he believes that he would rather sell 10 tractors and make 1 grand each than 2 tractors and make 5 grand each. more happy customers, more return business, more people being sent in to buy from them, and also if you get a good deal on a tractor where will you likely go to get parts, attachments, and accessorys? so all the way around they win. if you do stop in to see them please tell him that you seen this on tbn, and talked to larry. i've been telling him about tbn and how it works, having you stop in and tell him about it will further emphasize it. so where are you from? i live about 9 miles south of big rapids. when i was there on monday they had a 2305 on the show room floor. nice little tractor, as a matter of fact when i started shopping for a tractor that's the size i was going to get. then i drove the 3120 around the lot, bad mistake! i ended up with the 3320, come to think of it they have a 3120 on the lot with a 300x fel already to go. good luck on the tractor shopping. it can be alot of fun. thank you for the post. larry
