Your kitchen looks good. Also, nice looking shop to work in.

Got the last of the tops poured and covered up. No pics (figured everyone was tired of looking at concrete molds). It only took four bags, that leaves me with three and i think i'll only need part of one for the slurry. Didn't get a chance to do any sanding, it would have been a perfect day though.

Friend of mine used to be a mold designer in a factory producing concrete prefab buildings. he told me they sprayed the slurry to the mold first and then poured the concrete mix in in. There were no bubbles in the surface.

Now ya tell me, lol. That makes sense, i'll try that next time. Thanks for the tip, i bet that will work. I would never have thought of it on my own.

Sanded on the tops today, the sander isn't working out. I think you need something that spins faster, and all the time. Sense im planning on making more tops for inside the house, i went ahead and bit the bullet and ordered a wet-grinder.

Wet grinder will be here tuesday, if the weather cooperates i may get these wrapped-up next week (its raining here now). I'm racing winter to get these sealed. I de-molded the last of the tops tonight, tops look good, the sides still have the pin holes. The holes in these (tops of the backsplash) are for lights, i used 1 inch pvc and plan on just leaving it in, not sure if they would knock-out or not. I siliconed the pvc to the bottom (the top) of the melamine to hold them in place.

Backsplash tops are on and glued-down. They were heavier than i thought they would be, but i finally got them in place. They're not perfect, but im happy with them. Everything fit together good, and the holes for the lights lined-up (was kinda worried) I think it made a big difference in the looks. I used two tubes of construction adhesive, so hopefully they will stay put. I'll post some pics tomorrow if its not raining.

Tried screening the Quikrete mix tonight, didn't work very well, plan B, im gonna make my own slurry from portland cement, acrylic bonding agent, color, water. I already have the portland cement, left over from the patio floor. I can always grind it off if we don't like the look.
