Outside air intake

About once a week I use an ash shovel that I drilled a bunch of 1/8" holes in to make it a sifter.

I once read (maybe on TBN, not sure) of someone who emptied hot ashes into their garbage can just as the garbage truck was rolling down the street. The truck unknowingly picked up the garbage can and emptied it into the back. A short while later the truck was on fire

I take my metal bucket with metal lid immediately outside and set it on concrete. :thumbsup:

It happens and continues to happen... one of the big California fires was traced to a garbage burning in the back of a garbage truck... I believe Driver Dump the load to save the truck and many homes were lost...

In retrospect would have been better off driving into the lake or mall parking lot...

I didn’t see any mall parking lots or a lake in the video. The driver still made the right call. If he left the trash in the truck and burnt the 150k truck it still would have ignited the wildfire.

Monday morning quarter back said there was a duck pond at the Mobil Home park...

Discussion is California will require mandatory fire suppression on all compacting garbage trucks...

You would think that compacted garbage wouldn't cause any immediate fire threat and could easily be driven to some safe spot and dumped. A fire can't burn without oxygen. How would you do supression when there is no vacant space? That makes no sense to me at all.

Burning 76 houses was probably better by California standards vs driving a garbage truck in a lake.

Maybe if he'd left the trash in the truck and called the FD it would have contained it in the truck until they got there, VS dumping it on the side of the road on a windy day.

But for sooty glass doors Jiffy type oven cleaned in a spray can is simply miraculous.
Even the dollar store quality is great.

Does that work for burned on Creosote? Soot is never the problem.
