It's the other way around -- inline threes are inherently better balanced than inline fours. I hope we don't have to rehash the whole thing again. It's all online if someone wants to google "engine balance".


With the guys in the northeast having a snow day I would get ready for more pointless arguing. Hopefully spring is around the corner.

Being that slow day the early part of this thread was quite interesting for my simple mind. And the reference to "engine balance" was as well, but written more for an engineer. Actually I find a lot or old threads with someone reviving it as new info to me.

I thought the Kubota 7610 had a two (2) Range transmission, forward and reverse. The 2920 has four ranges, reverse, forward low, forward medium and forward high. Manuals I have read on tractors with three forward ranges, 1,2,and 3 advised to use 1 or 2 range for ground engaging activity and range three or high for street transport.
