P/S B7100/7200

I started mocking up my new P/S system today. Trying to find the best place to mount it to the frame. Seems either it's in the way of the clutch, rubs on the bell housing or the tire hits it when full turn left. Maybe I'm being to picky but I prefer it not to interfere with anything at all positions of steering and movement of front axle. I think I found the best spot but was curious if anyone else ran across this. Hopefully I can get the mount welded up this week and get hoses made up for next weekend.

YOU DON'T WANT ANYTHING INTERFERING WITH ANY PART OF TRACTOR. LOOK AT PREVIOUS PICTURES. THEY SHOULD EXPLAIN.

You look like you're yelling :) My setup is a bit larger. Some of those in the pics look like they may rub if the wheel was fully turned left and that side wheel was up on the pivot. Trust me, I looked at them in detail before posting.

SORRY, DIDN'T WANT TO SOUND LIKE I WAS YELLING. I DON'T KNOW IT ALL EITHER. PUT MINE ON AND NO INTERFERENCE WITH WHEEL OR CLUTCH. MY CLUTCH MISSES BRACKET BY ABOUT HALF AN INCH. MY BRACKET IS BOLTED ON SIDE OF FRAME,USING 1/2 ANGLE IRON. CYLINDER GOES TO LEFT STEERING KNUCKLE AND FOLLOWS DRAG LINK, PRETTY MUCH IN A STRAIGHT LINE. HOPE THIS MAKES SENCE.

I GUESS I AM YELLING. YOUR INSTALLATION OF YOUR P/S LOOKS VERY GOOD. I SAW THE REINFORCEMENT OF THE FLOOR BOARD FOR THE REAR ANCHOR, BUT I THINK THAT IS A WEAK POINT AND THAT MAY BREAK AND FLY UP AND HIT YOU IN THE LEG. JUST MY OPINION.

I'll take my chances on the floor board. It's actually more than a 1/4 thick where I added the metal. It does not budge at all when using the p/s. I think the front steering arm would break first.

If anyone is still following this thread I just procured a John Deere 400 valve and have never seen one in action. It is pretty clean and I hope functional. At which end is the movement that actuates the valve and is there a built in relief in this valve.

Also what is a good cylinder to use for the steering cylinder as most of what i am finding seem larger and more powerful than needed.

I am going to try and tap into the little block on the right side of the tractor. I don't have any extra hydraulics in use except foe the three point for the mower.

I assume I will still need a diverter valve. I am the first to admit I am pretty green at Hydraulic work...

Thanks
Garry
