We seem to have found the likely culprit, and fixed it. Please report if you have the problem from this point forward.

Thanks...

If you don't hear from us again, you can assume it's fixed, right? No news is good news?:D

I read this thread first and was hoping to find this problem fixed, but exited from here and selected "Related Topics" only to have it "time out" waiting for TBN... About two minutes and the screen never changed.

I'm still getting pages hang, to the point of time outs, but interestingly this morning so far it has ONLY been when I've used the "Back" button on the browser (IE 6). I've only been to about a dozen pages so far so it may not be an adequate sampling from which to draw any conclusion, but none have hung while going there, several have hung going "back". In each case a "refresh" has brought the page up.

I also am still hanging....The main forum page seems to work fine, but when Rt. click and "open in new window", it is - at best - slow. Many times I just say forget it.

When a thread page does show up, I hit "stop", and just leave the page incomplete. Then I click on another thread, that loads (hopefully), while I'm reading the first one.

Has been like this since the changeover to "V Bulletin". However other forums with the same format come in fine.

I thought it was fixed, since it has not been hanging for me, but then at 2:19 p.m., I had the "Since My Last Visit" list of 40 threads on the screen and I clicked on "Mark All Read" and it hung again. After about 2 minutes, I clicked again on "Mark All Read" and it worked.

Pages hang on me also. Not every time but on occassion. I usually hit the back button a couple times to get back to the forum start page. Then go back into discussions and it usually works for a while. I clear my taskbar tray except for virus, firewall, and spyware programs. And I always go into internet options and delete files, delete cookies, and clear history before logging into TBN.

Still hanging, maybe even worse. All other sites with same software work fine as usual.

I'm still hanging up too. In fact, I should have mentioned before, pages also hang on my system at work. Don't ask me what the system is comprised of at work, but it is based in another state and served to my location on a fiber optic line.

My hangs seemingly have changed a bit - used to hang on just about anything - now seems more prevalent just when going to or from attachments.... or maybe that's just where I notice it more ......

I don't think it matters that much what equipment we have. I have 3 computers, one being a laptop. The only commonalities are the make (Compaq) and the service provider and access speed (Roadrunner). It happens at CBN as well with all 3 of them.
It hasn't been that much of an inconveniece, I just stop the page and reload.

To me, it almost seems like a connection problem. I can open 5-6 pages at a time since I use tabbed browsing. They all will just sit there and not load, hit refresh a minute later and they pop-up. I'd be looking at the ISP. It almost acts like the request is not getting though.

When they do hang, the download status box at the bottom shows nothing and in the status bar it says "Waiting for www.tractorbynet.com"

The little download status box at the bottom on mine usually shows anywhere from one-fifth to two-thirds when it hangs.

Thanks for all of the information. We have narrowed the problem down to a few likely causes, and have our server manager working on it.

At this point, you don't need to post any more reports of the problem,. Once we think we've fixed it, I'll post again asking if the problem still exists for anybody.
