part numbers

i have a parts breakdown for the belly mower for my B6100; the belt from the pto clutch to the center mandrel is 70080-00271; and under remarks it says A117; can anyone cross reference that for a part number that i can use to get a belt at a local wholesale bearing/drivetrain/drive-belt dealer; they have lots better prices, and heavy duty belts; the belt thats on the mower deck is a 70080-00272; A-88; PLUS; according to this break down, this deck has no guide wheels on the rear; only an anti-scalp roller, 70080-00222; on the front; sure hope it mows ok when i get this all worked out; does reading about mowing decks make you feel any warmer...its @ 12degrees here...burrrrrrrrrr

you gave us the cross-reference yourself, you just may not have realized it. the A117 is a cross-reference that any shop should recognize ... as I recall, it breaks down to
A (style, as in v-shaped) 117 (length) An A-88 would be the same style, just shorter.
Standard v-belts are usually a (narrow, I believe) and B (wider).
Just make sure you buy a good quality one like Gates as they're usually not much fun to replace when you're in the midst of mowing.
Now - the $64 question ... what are you doing playing with a mower when most of us are wondering if there's an end to the white stuff?

thanks, i wondered what the A88 was for..we have a company here called Motion Industries; they have heavy duty belts at much better prices than dealers..
the only attachments i have for the B6100 is a rear tiller, a flail mower and a belly mower....not much i can do with those attachments this time of the year..so i'm just tryin to get it ready..its so cold, i don't stay out much..break the ice on the pond..water the other critters and run back in..thanks for your help..
