Neither are replies from the minor few who have had problems.
I like to see what I am in for with the DPF. If I want a new tractor I have to deal with it. Any problems within the 5 year emissions warranty will be repaired and recorded.

I replied earlier-I haven’t had any DPF problems or electronics problem in 8 years and 460 hours. If I had the choice, I’d have a tractor without DPF or the electronics-but if you want a new tractor…. I’d like to buy a truck without a push button start-keys have worked for me for over 45 years… You don’t have much of a choice.

I was looking for a pre tier 4 46 HP tractor used and they were either beat or expensive, or high hours. Settled for a used 2015 Kubota L4760. I run it about 1,500 RPM and it regenerates about every 25 hours. I try not to let it sit and idle like I always used to but I'm not OCD about shutting it off every time I get off of it. I've heard the DPF is good for 3,000 regens which works out to about 6,000 hours - which I'll never live old enough to see.
I'm very happy with the tractor and have put about 120 hours on it since June.

Tread lightly and don’t get in a big hurry. With Trump deep sixing the EPA mandated BS, a lot of that regen crap is going bye bye. Give it some time to see how the manufacturers respond.

Not true. Those laws are here to stay unless Congress gets involved.

For what it's worth, I hate DPF's, SCR and all that stuff. Just because the potential is there for costly repairs.
But the other day at my Kubota dealer I was out in the yard looking at new LX's and L's and one of the young mechanics walked by. I asked if he sees many problems with those models and he said no.
And this dealer has a lot of them sold to snow contractors.
About 10 years ago we were in the market for a new RV. We visited several dealers and looked at a number of units. We went home to discuss the ones we likes and my wife called the dealer to see if it was still available.

Instead of a salesman she got a mechanic in the shop. She asked him if the unit was still available and he said “Yeah, we haven’t sold anything in a couple of weeks!”

We went back the next day and got a heck of a deal!

I use my M7060 at whatever RPM I desire, and I do not worry about keeping it up so much like other people do. I am at about 650 hours now.

Scr isn't added to a machine under 75 horsepower. So the only requirement is a DPF. Some manufacturers require the unit to regen to burn off the excess soot.

Other manufacturers run higher exhaust temperatures and don't regen.

Other than the B33xx that had major issues, kubota has it pretty much figured out.

If your not running the machine hard enough to complete a regen, you may need to look through the manual and just plan on occasionally doing a parked regen on your machine.

I do that at work on our large forklift. It doesn't run long enough to perform a regen, so I just do a parked regen on it occasionally to avoid issues.

My 2020 M62, which I bought new in April 2020, has been out of service for 3 weeks with a DPF failure. Just over 500 hours on it, used hard but maintained way beyond what is required (only Kubota oil/filters etc) and only highway diesel. Regens done while working.

Was excavating a foundation when it sputtered and died. Dash said "Warning, contact your dealer immediately". Just got an update from the dealer this morning, said the DPF is bad and they don't know if it can be saved. Big money to fix either way.

It had regen'd the week before this happened, and was sitting at 30% pm when it went down.

Of course, the machine is 3 months out of the 5 year emission warranty period.

Just an fyi.

Owners with no dpf problems are without a doubt the silent majority.
Let's change that just a bit;
Owners with DPF problems are the silent majority.

A few mostly "minor" issues on others tractors, usually sensor issues. Sometimes easy to rectify.

While a sensor may be "easy" to replace ... Depending on where the engineers decided to put it/them ... It will take a computer hooked up to it with the appropriate software to figure out which one is the "problem child" ... Or all of them could just be changed!

But, what if it's not the sensor that's actually at fault ... Maybe a wire connector is bad? Or the computer goes on permanent vacation? Or the sensors are RIGHT and the DPF is actually FULL!

Regen on the vehicles don't get it perfectly "clean" ... There is an ultra fine ash that it does not get burnt out, and that builds up ... On my big truck engines, we send them back to Kenworth to clean them ... Not sure if the little tractor ones are "cleanable" or if it's a replacement ... Be interesting what happens with the above M62 ...

My M62 has been repaired and returned to me. The bill from the dealer was $3039.17, which includes $270 in pickup/delivery fees, making the actual repair cost $2769.17.

The filter was sent out for cleaning and inspection. Fortunately, it was not damaged and could be reused. The cleaning fee from Kubota was $875. Labor was over 12 hours. Various seals, gaskets etc made up the remainder.

They did not determine why the meter showed the PM percentage at 30% when, in reality, it was at 100%. The previous regens may not have been cleaning the filter as much as the system thought they were.

The entire system software had to reinstalled, and some part of it actually had to be reprogrammed by Kubota.

The recommendation I got re: the filter is to have it cleaned every 5 years regardless of hours.

The only good news out of this is that the filter was reusable. The bill would have been double if the filter actually needed to be replaced.

This sounds fantastic. Run at over 2,000 instead of 1,500. Burn more fuel. Faster engine wear. Then they charge you $875 just to clean the filter. And if it's $875 today, it will be $1,500 in 5 years.

So roughly budget $500 per year for PM of the DPF ... And your tractor was out of commission sitting at a dealership for 2 months ...

I'm glad so far I decided to go with an older used tractor ...

I understand that some, maybe even most get much more than 500 hours before any problems, and it seems to be that part/most of your problem was some kind of computer glitch, yet they they still recommended service/cleaning the filter every 5 years ...

I have an M7060, 1000hrs, 8yrs, no issues with the emission system.
It regens more with light work, and colder temps of winter. Ive ran this machine around at both low rpms and higher rpms and it does not change the fuel burn enough to notice. There is a fuel burn display on the dash to watch.
The machine feels happier to me at a higher rpm, like 22-2300.
Amount of load on the engine effects the fuel burn and is very noticable.
My father has a 40ish hp Branson with a DOC, not a dpf. He likes to idle around. His DOC (no computers involved, its basically a fancy cataylic converter) will plug up, the 2 sensors involved are simply pressure switches that trigger a light on the dash, same symbol as the kubota regen...... he then needs to drive around, under load, to make enough exhaust heat so the DOC filter will self clean.
I had a DPF system on a VW TDI. It never caused me issues (many have though) but since its been on the shelf, its been very problem free. That option exists for most of our tractors too, in certian countries at least. That car got me 63mpg on the last tank of fuel, running the speed limit.
