Sigarms, I am not sure what your accountant was referring to as new laws. Maybe Federal/IRS type stuff. I know that I would have to come out of retirement in order to pay my real estate taxes if our land were not in the Ag. Exemption category. Yep, I checked your homepage. I am about 6 miles NW of Mocksville and about 2.5 miles off HWY. 601. The insurance advice was good. I failed to think of it. My Farm Bureau guy has us with a $1,000,000 Umbrella policy to cover the land and our lake liability dangers. It is not too expensive as a rider to our homeowners policy.
