I just installed PEC last weekend in about an hour. Works well after I replaced hydraulic toplink with longer one from CCM. The one I got adjusts from about 22-33" I think and is good fit.

Sounds like we have the same system.

Cool dudes, how about each of you revealing what you paid for the longer cylinder?

Hazmat, Thanks for the info. Looks like a good place to get a replacement cylinder if I manage to need one. When my port side lower arm fell in two in the middle (clean fracture with no bending) my box blade fell to earth and the twisting torque bent the hydraulic "con rod" in my top lift ram. It has, over time, straightened itself out nearly perfectly so I didn't replace it as long as it was working OK.

I will first give the adapter that the Greenwell folks (PEC manufacturer) have already started toward me via UPS a good try. IF that fails I will make an adapter to add 4 inches of rearward positioning to the tractor end of the top lift mounting. If that fails I will buy a longer cylinder. I don't think I have lost significant range of motion keeping the same throw cylinder and lengthening the lower arms but if I find it limiting I will opt for a cylinder with more throw.

Thanks again for the link, those guys might become useful sometime.

Disclaimer: Although I am Patrick G. I am not THE Pat of Pat's Easy Change and am not affiliated with Greenwell MFG (I couldn't be THAT lucky) and have never been to their facility nor met any of the folks in person. They are not paying me to shill for them. I'm just calling a good thing, a GOOD THING when I see it.

It is a good thing. An even better and up front thing is if Greenwell told the buyer up front that their adaptor system may or usually (from the looks of this thread) require additional components. I see here where some are spending another $200 plus to make this work properly.

Hope it works well for you. They never offered up an extension to me, but then again, it's each to their own. Said I could send mine back and pay another shipping charge..... LOL...

I'd be interested to see the results of this modification.

Got my Easy Changes lines up , tightened and used Loctite on all threads. Attempted to attach to my Disc Harrow and guess what, IT WAS SO EASY. Finished with that and went to the rear blade. It is set up for Cat 1 or 2, once again it was sooooo much easier. Only question is will moving the implement 3.5 inches further back increase wear and tear on the lift system to any great amount. Also I need a yet longer top link. Already got the longest I could find. For the rear blade I need a longer one. On the disc I am okay with the longer one from TSC>

GREAT PRODUCT, a wonderful labor saver!!!

If most of the implements work OK and you are only having trouble with one needing a longer top link, I would look at modifying the implement not the top link. It would probably be a lot less money and accomplish the same thing.

Well... maybe...Al (GreenMtns)

In general it is better practice to fix the cookie cutter rather than each individual cookie.

In my case I wouldn't get the desired range of motion in several implements without the extension. So... fixing the top link once instead of several individual implements follows the engineering (cooking?) maxim.

I had a minor difficulty with not being told prior to buying I "might" need an extension but if you actually thought about it for just a second or two you should realize that if the arms are longer the top link needs to be longer too. Recall, I was taking pain meds and not totally at the top of my form (The stuff the drug co said was a wonder med and not addictive but really was... Oxycontin, saw this on the TV news tonight)

Anyway I got a phone call offering me an adaptor designed for a Kubota dealer. I am glad they offered it to me and I will give it a real workout and report back to them how it works and any problems I might encounter or any benesuggs (beneficial suggestions.)

I promise that my approach is very Consumers Reports like. Real tests based on sound engineering/scientific method and the unvarnished truth about the results.

I didn't complain or whine or ask them for help in any form. I did mention that I would have felt better being remineded in advance and I commented as how an adapter/extension would make a great accessory product to sell along with the PEC for those who need it, not unlike the adjustable width bar thingy which I also bought.

I look forward to the arrival of the adapter. I hope it allows me to use any of my implements.

If there were a simple way to ensure rigidity (with no irreversible mods to the tractor or it accessories, I would want to buy half of another PEC and mount it on my hydraulic top link. Of course it would have to be sized differently or I would have to mod each implement to accept a larger top link pin. I think with a bungee cord or some sort of tiller like handle I could manipulate through the open window in the back of my cab I could capture the implement with the top link from the cab.

To get a longer toplink, I will talk my stepson into cutting body of the topling in half and adding about a 4 inch extension. Weld it up and see how that works. The Pat's easy change work extremely well for me and I knew about the toplink issue beforehand.

Greg, Sounds good to me. Is your top link hydraulic or manual? Mine is manual and I don't want to cut and weld the thing myself.
