Pat's Quick Change question

OK, got the PATS, now my hydraulic top link is too short. Who offers a top link extender? I have seen some custom made, but where can you buy one?
TSC has longer adjustable arms for around $20. That's for regular upper arm. Don't know about hydraulic link. Well, as I've found out some of my prices are a bit out dated but that's what I paid for mine a few years ago. JD was my first stop and they wanted $90 for theirs so one of the few times I was happy with my TSC transaction. If you have implements with drive shafts then you'll have to deal with that, maybe. Think there are extenders for around $20. Maybe your drive shafts will be long enough.

Pic will come. As for modifying the only top like I had to modify was on my 3pt estate sprayer because of the design of it I had to make a little bracket to move it out a few inches so the top hook could get under it. Other than that my 3pt fert. spreader, rototiller work great. Hook up is no effort. I don't have a box blade, cultivator or anything like that but I have looked at them and they all would work great. The only thing is it must be a cat. 1 hitch not cat.0.
Cat. 0 has narrower spread on the main links.
Guess you still have to get off to hook up drive shaft on tiller. Was your tiller drive shaft long enough or did you have to do some thing to/about it?

Hummm...I am confused as to the confusion. The top center link is a large hook that hooks onto the center link pin of the implement. The center link pin is left permanently in the implement. You back the tractor with QH up to the implement, lined up on the pins and then lift up the QH. The center hook hooks onto the center link pin of the implement and the lower hooks grab the main lift pins on the implement and everything is locked in place with spring loaded locks.

My confusion is that it's being implied/stated here that with one of these fixed QH's that one buys it, attaches it and from then on you don't get off the tractor any more except to hook up a drive shaft. Now over the years when I study these fixed QH's there are some people that have bought them they are saying that they don't fit all implements and that the upper arm has to be modified or some type of attachment has to be added. All I'm asking is a picture of your implements attached to this QH and do all of your implements work on it with a simple back up, raise arms and drive off. If you'll provide that info and your pictures even someone as thick as me can possibly get over my confusion. Post the pictures and tell the/your implements. Please help me!!! I read the posts SPYDERLK referenced and became more confused about how universal and simple these work. I hate to have to go and spend $80 to $100 to find out how these really work and are they truly universal and will work on all of my implements.:confused::confused:
Oh. Sorry that link didnt present clarity. Try this one. - Posts 6,7,8, and factor against kubomans excellent brief description above.http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/build-yourself/153093-h-f-quik-hitch-question.html

The center hook height is adjustable on most ... but some implements will not have room to engage that hook and you will need that alternate linkage accessory shown in some of the posts. Also there are implements that these hitches cannot be made to work on because there is not enuf clearance around 1 or all of its pins to maneuver the hooks into place.

Thanks for the response. Straight answer, won't work on all implements. This I understand. I think this got started back in the thread when someone asked if we were against the fixed QH's. I was wanting to make certain that the reason I hadn't purchased one before was because they will not fit every implement like the arm extension QH's. As some times happens I seemed to not be getting a definite answer from owners of the fixed QH's as to cost and do they fit all implements. Apparently, now from owners of fixed QH's, they still do not fit all implements as I had come to the understanding before when I decided to buy Pat's instead of a fixed one. I believe I might would buy a $70 fixed QH if I knew it would fit all of my implements for certain just to try it but I'm not certain it will and I already have 2 different arm extension QH's so I'm saving my money and sticking to what I have. Maybe a company will send me one to try and if it works on all of my implements I can send the money.:)
