Pat's Quick Change question

   / Pat's Quick Change question #41
Do you have to do any adjustments to it between the 3 implements that you use with it? Do you just back up to any/all of the 3, raise it up and drive off? I'm trying to understand it better since I've had/have the other 3 but haven't tried this one. Why won't you tell the price?
Theyre around $200+. Fixed width may not agree w all implements. You can get a chinese copy for $70 @ HF on sale.

Here are pictures of the $70 ones hooked up to my boxblade upside down to see if they will work OK upside down. Maybe they're not upside down and are supposed to be this way,:) they don't come with instructions. I could have put them up but would have had to lift boxblade up to them or lifted boxblade with fel and put blocks under the front of it then come under the bb pins. Really tested these with some extreme rock digging and had no issues. Subsurface rocks stopped tractor and big rocks gave up their grip and rolled out of the way. I feel confident of the strength of these now that I have tested them at the extreme.
They slip off and on in less than a minute.

Sorry didn't realize I had not mentioned price. The landpride is $400 up here in the frozen north, they will be cheaper by allot down your area. There are real nice knockoffs that are identical to the Landpride for about $200. There are really cheap ones for under $100. I looked at all of them and decided the LP was worth the extra $$.:) As for the width of the hooks I have not come across anything that would not work. They will come off in a jiffy if need be. I will post a pic of mine on the tractor when I get my camera back.

I'd say Landpride is about the same price anywhere and if $400 is the going price then that will be the reason they don't have alot of support from buyers. A $70 one was mentioned at HF, does anyone have one from HF? Or the $70 one? Not sure I understand how the top arm works, hooks up on all implements. Can someone please provide pictures and input on the upper arm connections on different implements with one of these fixed ones that you don't have to get off of the tractor to hook up, except for drive shaft implements?

Hummm...I am confused as to the confusion. The top center link is a large hook that hooks onto the center link pin of the implement. The center link pin is left permanently in the implement. You back the tractor with QH up to the implement, lined up on the pins and then lift up the QH. The center hook hooks onto the center link pin of the implement and the lower hooks grab the main lift pins on the implement and everything is locked in place with spring loaded locks.

My confusion is that it's being implied/stated here that with one of these fixed QH's that one buys it, attaches it and from then on you don't get off the tractor any more except to hook up a drive shaft. Now over the years when I study these fixed QH's there are some people that have bought them they are saying that they don't fit all implements and that the upper arm has to be modified or some type of attachment has to be added. All I'm asking is a picture of your implements attached to this QH and do all of your implements work on it with a simple back up, raise arms and drive off. If you'll provide that info and your pictures even someone as thick as me can possibly get over my confusion. Post the pictures and tell the/your implements. Please help me!!! I read the posts SPYDERLK referenced and became more confused about how universal and simple these work. I hate to have to go and spend $80 to $100 to find out how these really work and are they truly universal and will work on all of my implements.:confused::confused:

Pic will come. As for modifying the only top like I had to modify was on my 3pt estate sprayer because of the design of it I had to make a little bracket to move it out a few inches so the top hook could get under it. Other than that my 3pt fert. spreader, rototiller work great. Hook up is no effort. I don't have a box blade, cultivator or anything like that but I have looked at them and they all would work great. The only thing is it must be a cat. 1 hitch not cat.0.
Cat. 0 has narrower spread on the main links.

John I hear you. I finally went with Pat's solution but they are still in the box since we worked (messed with) on the JD BH for 11 hours yesterday but we got serious leaks stopped on each end and installed a new alternator on it and a lot of cleaning. Just could not stand to replace the alternator with that dirt being trapped behind it so we spent a lot of time cleaning first. :) Hey it looked great in the sun light this morning.

All QH's seem to be a trade off at some level. It seems like they may work just fine for most pieces of equipment but not everything one may have.

OK, got the PATS, now my hydraulic top link is too short. Who offers a top link extender? I have seen some custom made, but where can you buy one?
