Are you saying the Boom and stick are on the right side in an Excavator? I am sure you could change the hoses if there was enough slack to swap side to side. Sometimes they are cut just right to fit. You'll have to look when you get all the covers off.no your not missing anything its just the control pattern. i learned on the excavator pattern and this is set up in the tlb pattern. the boom and stick are on opposite controls from what i'm used to. makes me feel like i can't operate it because everything is backwards. the guys who run heavy equipment will know what i'm talking about.
also i was curious if i got a good deal on my kubota. its a 2009 bx25 with 230 hours on it . it was in excelent condition and garage kept. i paid 12500 for it. does this seem like a fair price or did i overpay? it only has the front bucket and backhoe and a 3 point hitch, no mower deck.
Nice explanation! Is there any history, that you know of, of how the two came to be? I won't even venture a guess.......too used to ISO now after 3 different backhoes. ISO seems to make more sense to me but since that is all I have used I may not see/feel the benefit of the other. At least now we have 2 joysticks and not 4 separate handles in both variations! Hose change would only require swapping 2 for 2.There is ISO and SAE controls for backhoe and excavators. There are a few threads about how to change the hoses on the valves.
