Fun pictures!!!! For me, if I'm seeing animals while out hunting, I've had a good hunt. If I shoot something, that's a bonus to being out there.

There is a monster buck on my place too. He's only been seen by the guy who hunts hogs on my place at night with a thermal. This is the best picture that he's taken of the buck with his thermal. He doesn't come to any of the feeders. He just sort of circles around them, several hundred yards out. Odds are very good that he will die of old age.



We have several that my wife wants, but so far, they are remaining nocturnal.

Yep! Missouri has several of the top Deer in the different record books. The variety of crops grown, natural forage and trees along with excellent climate makes for great deer environment.

Just getting out of the wind using homemade or store bought blind is a plus.

I know the saying sounds corny...but IMO once a hunter gets settled into his stand or blind...there is no more of a condition than said hunter "becoming one with nature"...

You guys are lucky. NC has a lot of great things, but larger size deer really isn't one of them. When I took my boy up to NY this year for vacation, he even commented on how big the deer were "up north".

A couple Maine bucks off my land. 9 & 10 points, 156# and 174#. Not huge but pretty respectable for local deer.

I did get a look at the big one this morning. He came out at 9:45. Far end of my field. Unfortunately he was at about 350 yards. I tried rattling to see if I could turn him but at that distance and with the wind I don't think he even heard me. Continued straight across from north to south back into the timber. Heading out for vacation tomorrow. Just hope he makes it through this closing weekend.
