They charge by the acre. Can’t remember the rate. I only dis one field and it was very large, so I had my buddy do it with a 1/2 million dollar Fendt seeder.
I thought you meant you rented the drill, I basically do what you are talking about with my drill, custom farm work.

I've started seeing those no till drills on the farm auctions around here. Most of them are about 8'. I have almost pulled the trigger on a couple of them. They generally sell for around 4 grand.

If you can pick up one in decent shape for $4k that would be a really good deal one like mine a 10' model are going for $32k brand new, it's really crazy at the price of things prior to covid they were going for about $20k.

Seems everything was 50% less precovid

I have been at this a lot of years and find that price is one of the last things customers, especially existing customers, base their final answer on. They want a good person, reliable equipment and good job first, and respect for themselves, their opinions and property. Yes, price is a consideration and always enters into the conversation but people want a good job first.

I have often seen guys cut their bids to the point of despair on a job and still not get it only to see the job go to someone who charges more or even much more.

Is that a tilt deck trailer? The little ramps sticking off the end of it look kind of odd to me.

How quick does the bamboo grow back? I've always heard that it's really hard to control, but fortunately, I don't have any experience with it.

It is a tilt deck Kaufman 22' with 8k axles and 17.5 tires, major upgrade from my old 20' 14k equipment trailer, I also have a 30' gooseneck but it's usually a little to much trailer for some of the places I have to put it. The bamboo will start coming out in the spring and will have to be sprayed at that point to kill it. Trust me you don't want to have any experience with it, if anyone ever tries to give you a cutting burn it.

We planted Bambo on one side of the garden to break the wind... big regret. Once established it spreads like wildfire.
