A couple of pictures of the many things that I found on a fence line cleanup job today, the round bar is I believe 1" solid steel it was drove in the ground about 3' and hidden by vines, the shovel was the same.

Looks like they both took a licking from the mulcher (unfortunately)!

The steel bar seems pretty stout...

Wait till you hit some old oil well rods from 120 years ago. View attachment 1191793
I hope I don't, I hit enough stuff already LOL. Did you tear anything up when you hit it?

It's solid steel but the forestry mower brung it out of the ground and the blades aren't to much the worse for wear, the shovel was destroyed.

I was amazed at what a forestry mulcher did to that fire hydrant. Those things are heavy, thick, cast iron.

Maybe I shouldn't me amazed, I seen what a Road Reclaimer does to reinforced concrete pipe...

Monday I mowed a chain in half with my ZT, just a small Knick in the blade.

The old well pipe was hit with rotary mower, I pulled it up to make it visible. Didn’t notice any damage.

I bought a bag of Snake Away, but I haven't put it out yet. It's been a few months, and when I think about doing it, we have rain in the forecast. I have the same problem with spraying for weeds.

At my place, snakes got really bad because of all the mice I had in my chicken coops. We trapped and killed as many mice as we could, but we never made an impact on their numbers.

Then a couple calico cats showed up. I guess they where dumped, but I really don't know where they came from. We fed them, hoping they would eat the mice. Then a tom cat showed up and we didn't want him around, but he stuck around anyway, and our two calico's had kittens.

We now had a dozen cats, and that's when we noticed that the mice where not as plentiful as they used to be. The cat population seems to be holding steady at around 30 cats.

There hasn't been a mouse seen by us in years!!! Our snake problem just about totally disappeared. Not just around the house, but all over the land. I used to see them when bush hogging, but that hasn't happened in several years.

The cats wonder all over the land, and it could be that they have all the mice under control, which I doubt, but something has changed, and the snakes have been going elsewhere
I tell them not to, but my cats bring me the occasional baby rattlesnake. I wouldn't be surprised if the cats controlling the rodents passively partially controls the snake population, but their active efforts finish the job

Today's work cutting down trees out of the fence row and adding to the pile, for some reason it was brutally humid today, with any luck I'm gonna try to cut some hay down tomorrow.

Been doing nothing but hurricane tree cleanup and fighting army worms, this morning I had to wade into this pond and cut this tree and get a rope on it so I could drag it up on the bank, here are a few pictures from the past few weeks.
