Very impressive. One more point for hydrostatic, sure helps keep travel speed down with blower going full bore. My next machine will be A- newer/4x4, and B- hydrostatic

Here's video taken several years ago Snow blowing a rink I just downloaded. Yes I know I should have started at farthest point out and worked way in but that's how I tested the ice. I had to blow with the wind and If I was going to go through I'd rather that happen in a few feet of water vs eight.

Just took delivery of my new inverted blower. In the process of assembling and installing on tractor. Hooked up hydraulic hoses and chute today leaving driveshaft (pto) to install before testing on tractor.C6A14DA5-A09C-48B6-B198-55FDE2CEA9F9.jpegED7478D4-2A24-418D-BB43-132B4B31E574.jpeg

Out of curiosity I checked their www site, and some are now painted black. Kind of a useless observation on my part, but I’ve just never seen anything other than blue.
In any case, that is a quality blower that you have... You will get many years of reliable service.
Here’s mine after installing hydraulics:

That is one serious deflector control. I notice that your chute rotator cable does not go through the nut welded to the chute. Is it clamped to the chute in some way not visible?

Yeah, the cylinder is overkill but that’s what was supplied by LuckNow. It was a royal pain to get all of the hydraulic components from Canada. Expensive also, but I have been so satisfied with the quality of the blower I opted to stick with oem parts.
I don’t know what the welded on bolt is for. The cable is clamped on to a u shaped piece of metal welded on the chute. It works great, but I may have it connected wrong.

Can’t wait to get up there (to the cottage) tomorrow for the Family Day long weekend! There is also the Dorset Snowball, but I am most looking forward to attacking some 2 ft. of snow in the driveway, with the (rear) blower. No can, just me and mother nature! Will post pics. View attachment 591825

Bertha - all ready set to go!

Used PK today to clear the 1/2" or so of snow w/thin layer of ice on top off the drive before it became solid ice: Tractors 2017 160.JPG

Another 3-5" of snow predicted for Tuesday/Wednesday!

Love that Power King! My Dad bought one in the early 70’s, and that was what I cut 2 acres with for years as a kid. They actually have a cult following as a collectible now.

Here's a shot from a few days ago... before we got 16 more inches. Couldn't do it without her!

And as someone who has used both methods, I'll bet it took a LOT less time with the blower! ;-)

No comparison between FEL and snowblower.. but I'll put the front 7' blade against a snowblower anytime for time saver, even without throwing in the benefit of the wing plow.. :D :D

I have a plow as well. It all depends on how deep the snow gets. With a plow I'm out there all night plowing with the storm because once it gets so deep I'm not going anywhere with the plow. With the blower I stay in the warm, sleep in and clean everything up once when it's all over. :)

I don't plow often to keep up.. usually just once. Last couple storms were over a 24 hour period and up to 14" of snow total.. plowed when Mrs. needed to get out for her quilting and shopping trips. But maintain 1/4 mile of drive and road so do it in 1/5 of the time a snowblower would take.. and essentially no cleanup of equipment as is necessary for a snowblower..

And I love to plow snow.. ;)

If I got that much snow I would probably have a snow blower too.
I rarely get more then 6" at a time so plowing seems to be easiest for me.
However I do miss my plow truck. Open station tractor isn't near as much fun for an old man that gets COLD easy.
