All these updates on snow weapons has me thinking about my summer project: doors on the tractor and repaint the blower. Dangnabbit, where did summer go?! I'm focusing on getting a few tasty critters in the freezer, then I better get serious out those projects!

I don’t want to think about winter quite yet. Let’s enjoy Fall

Where's your sense of adventure man. That's a pretty pic!

Ha ha, I did ok for a few years but my schedule was pushing me earlier and earlier. When it got to where I was plowing snow at 4:30am I decided I'm actually a wimp! The cab is fantastic in winter or in dusty conditions but I miss my MX5100 when working in the woods. There is no single tractor that is perfect all the time, right?

I have been plowing with a 7 1/2 foot fisher plow for the last few years. Got a free 8 foot this summer. Got the plow refurbished now working on the mount for the ssqa. Trying to get it done soon as I going in for a new hip around the first of december.

Thought you would get a kick out of the decals.

After 4-5 years I finally got the 4' Power King blade painted this summer: HPIM2863.JPG

Still need to put the 5' Ford blade on the 1953 JD 40S: HPIM2854.JPG

That Power King looks very nice! My Father had an older Power King, I believe '72 or so. It looks rough compared to yours, but still runs. I remember cutting grass, plowing the garden, and snowplowing on it in my youth.

Thanks, mine's a 1980-2418. Found it on CL a few years ago with the blade, 4' mower deck & 12" 3-pt Brinly plow!

Call me crazy but I'm buidling a wood snow pusher with a rubber plow edge, I figure 200-250 in parts beats the thousands for a new one. Granted, I haven't gone through all 500 pages.

I did a wooden bucket expander to move more snow that the factory 48" bucket, but it kept breaking so I ended up buying a larger metal bucket to use instead. Good luck, but expect repairs to be needed.

Well it's a 3/4 ply mounted to a 4x6 that should transfer most of the energy from the bucket across the sheet. Plenty of reinforcing to do though. The the rubber edge will help. I have a friend that just uses a partial sheet of plywood to move most the snow we get, as long as it's not walked on or driven on it comes off clean with little effort, his plywood is about a foot shorter but he's been using the same sheet for years
