Way back when, my dad made a big, flat, wood 3pt pusher for the Deere tractor. It was way better than the old crappy lawnmower with plow setup. Once he traded the deere for the 8n and bought a rear blade that could angle, we never used the flat pusher. A simple plow like my SnowSport would have been golden back then. Now I have the SS plow mounted on the front of the Toolcat and it works great.

YEP, fully agree!
Heated cab, a fan or two to keep windows defrosted and a cup holder for the coffee.

Chains for the icy days.

With a blower you put it way back and out of reach.
With a plow you simply end up with bigger drifts and narrower drive as winter progresses, that's when you realize the blower is the answer.

Around here even our road contractor need to blow back or at worst out comes his loader to push back.
Last winter he had to do a 'push back' twice.
We are fortunate in that when he does 'push backs' he follows with a CUT to clear all the driveway entries.
A very dedicated contractor! (and he was awarded another 3 year contract)

My first snow plow was a 15" X 48" piece of 3/4 plywood.
Cutting edge was old bed angle iron.
2 braced arms ended with 'hooks' that hung onto my old '57 VW beetle.
An old hockey stick was attached vertically to the left plow corner and a rope led back to the opened driver window.
Pulling on the rope raised the blade, bumper 'hooks' kept the 'blade' positioned.
I backed into the garage and proceeded to push the snow out of my dad's drive and piled it across the street.

LOL, was 16 or so and tired of shoveling with those old wooden snow shovels.
Dang snow always stuck to the wood shovel so I'd liberally pour old oil on the blade.

LOL, forget why I go back in my shop now days but recall silly things in my youth.
Memories are however nice to keep.

Wish I had a photo of that but cell phones were still a long ways off.

No pictures to prove anything yet, but, tomorrow I take my tractor in and get a Erskine 2020 front mount snowblower put on. It has a 85" (?) opening and I'm looking very forward to it. I'll post a picture when I get it home. Should be next week around Wednesday.

It is powered by a "powerpack" hooked to the PTO. Having the powerpack means I can get a front mount post hole digger too.:thumbsup: Looking forward to that also since I'm planning to build a 70x90x12 pole barn next summer and do lots of fencing.

It was about 3 years ago but I sold that place. Right now all my stuff is sitting out in the weather. Sure wish I could have moved the barn with me.

ive has a front mount with rear hydraulic for years. Love it. No more sore neck. A word of warning. If you use hydraulic powerpack in summer, you will need the in-line hydraulic cooler of some kind. That fluid gets awfully hot. In winter it is no problem

70x90 isn't a Pole Barn, it's a Warehouse! I'm currently trying to wrap up a new tractor shed that's only 14x28.

I wish we had that kind of contractor here. Last Winter was very snowy, I got out and shoveled the drive each time, then the road grader would leave a huge pile making my driveway useless. I had to get a neighbor lady with her JD SCUT and loader to clear it.
Well equipped this year though.

Ok. Now I've seen some more blunt warning labels! I may order the posted one for my snowblower.
I do find some manufacturer labels (legit) to be hilarious. On my "old school" Old Spice deodorant it says :
"You wouldn't be here if your grandfather didn't use Old Spice".

You bet it was intentional. My neck is sore enough without having to look back while blowing snow.

At my last house I built 3 pole barns of different sizes. My avatar is one of them. I figure this time I'll build one to do the job.:thumbsup:

Good luck on finishing your tractor shed. The second you get done and start using it.......you'll wish it was just 10' longer.:laughing:

I bet it was hard to leave 3 pole barns and have to restart. But maybe restarting is better. It is/was for me. Finally all my stuff is on one property. Jon

There is nothing easy about buying a piece of dirt and starting over from scratch. As it starts to come together then it seems more like I did the right thing. I have grass now so that's a big plus. The snow blower will make winters way better. A big barn next year and it'll feel like home.:thumbsup:
