Any others out there? I have a bit of "fancy" 'baccs, but I mostly enjoy some carter hall, and other OTC's.

As a "treat", some penzance, stonehaven, and whatever....

Used to smoke a pipe, but gave up all tobacco in 1982. One bowl of Sir Walter Raleigh in my old meerschaum and I would be a stark raving tobacco addict again.

I was gonna say that I had to stop that when they started drug testing at work:laughing:

This is the first time I've heard of Carter Hall in a long time; didn't know they still made it. When I was a teenager in my Dad's service station, I used to service our family doctor's Cadillac. There were 3 things that were always in that Cadillac; golf clubs in the trunk, the doctor's black bag in the floor behind the driver's seat, and a big can of Carter Hall in the front seat. I guess the doctor didn't smoke while examining someone, but if you talked to him in his office, when he was sitting at his desk, he'd be smoking that Carter Hall in his pipe.

I started smoking a pipe when I was 18; primarily to help keep me from falling asleep driving, but pretty soon all the time. In the late '50s, early '60s people smoked on the job everywhere. When I went to work for the Post Office, I smoked my pipe while sorting mail. I once heard my supervisor kiddingly tell someone I couldn't sort mail without a cloud of pipe smoke around my head. I mostly smoked Carter Hall and Sir Walter Raleigh.

But in 1964, after 5 years of smoking a pipe, I gradually changed to cigarettes. Then in 2006, I just quit smoking completely.

yeah that put a hurt on the pipes that i smoked. my wife alway's tells me when i do something stupid, [ witch is often] that she knew i shouldn't have smoked that last joint. i do smoke pipe tobbaco, i buy it by the pound and make my cigaretes with it cost me about $8 a carton that way, im not sure it's pipe tobbaco but thats what it say's on bag. the people that sell it say's the reason the company put's pipe instead of cigarett is the taxes are alot cheaper.
