Home: Too far out for delivery
Work: I'll order one in every now & then. They're only couple miles down the street so time/temperature isn't a huge issue however.... I personally like the cheese on top BROWNED so I ask for it to be well done or crisp or what ever they need to hear so they give me a brown topped pizza and not one with "white" cheese on top.
Someone said they'll tip a bit more if the delivery time is fast enough... my logic is, I don't really care (within reason
) how long it takes as long as they get the order RIGHT!!
So, I'll usually give about $5.00 tip and if the pizza is "properly browned on top" as ordered, I'll give $6 or if I have it, $7.00
I've never explained the logic of the tips so maybe I should... perhaps that would entice the delivery guy/gal to tell the cook..."HEY...this pie isn't dark enough, burn it!!"
