Place to get a spare key made???

Does anyone know where a guy could get a spare key made for a Yanmar? I always worry when only have 1 key for something. Didn't know if maybe a hardware store or a key store would have an appropriate blank . Has anyone had any luck with this issue?

I think you'll have to get a new key from a dealer. And you'll likely find they are all the same! There are also several listed on eBay.

I bought a couple off of ebay they were only a couple of bucks, everywhere I went locally didnt have blanks that looked even close...

My Yanmar factory key was bent pretty bad. I noticed it after I bought it and got it home and removed it. I have been looking for a blank ever since without any luck what so ever.So I got it hot and put it in my vise and straightend it the best I could. It's been a few years I have more or less came to the conclution that if I lose it or gets lost, broke I'm just going to replace the Ignition.

I owe you one. It's on there. Thats two things JD. on my red Yanmar.The engine Ser/Mod for a JD and the IGN. Key no wonder I couldn't find it my local JD dealer said it wasn't like thiers. I'll be ordering that one in the morning

JD, ask for keys for 750. Fits 80% of them. Ok, maybe 78%. Or 84%.

Like they say LMTC been there done that. 20% 22% or 16% of 750 keys but it is not like one of thiers according to my local JD. Apparently not so. But then again I was there getting blades for my 1060R. Thats what got them looking and when they seen the BLK.Yanmar on the key. The lip went up as soon as they seen what it was attached to. No doubt about it to me that they have a Tude

Because you showed them the key. I specifically said ask for keys for a 750. If you let most JD dealers know it is for Yanmar you will get an automatic "No". There are noteable exceptions that use odd keys......some older 1500s, many 1401s, 1510s, but the vast majority use that key. Why alienate them by letting them know it is for a brand they don't sell?
