......
After this thread I値l prob sign back up for insurance, would defeat the whole purpose if I ended up having to sell my house and stuff over a medical bill.

Now you're talking sense.

Good luck. Hang in there. Invest for the long run.

I have had health insurance threw my job for over 4 years, I

I pay around $2200 a year for the lowest plan of insurance threw work. .

I guess you mean through your work, unless you play baseball or football, then maybe you threw it. :D

Also, since there is a 401k max, and you can contribute 51%, you just told everyone your salary.

I thought I was contributing the max to my 401k, but came up a little short this year.

I hope you won't need the SS check and are rolling in money. Even if you are I do not believe that you will be so wealthy that you will not sign up for it to get that check

A man only needs so much..... I don’t buy more than I need, if I don’t use it I sell it.

I don’t need to be rolling in cash to be financially independent. I’m part of that weird generation that people complain about all the time because we do things differently. Lol

A paid off house with solar panels on the roof along with an electric car in the driveway like a Chevy volt and you won’t need much to live off of.

Having health Ins is the MAIN reason I still work, and having 2 kids in college....

I have a high deductible plan, and hit my deductible the first week last year.

I don’t care how rich or lack there of I am. I’m still taking every dime from SS I can get. I might donate that money to charity but I still want every dime possible of my money back from the government. I’m also paying in as few dimes as possible.

I don’t know how. He never said what percent he actually does contribute and he never said how much that amount is. His insurance payment is $2200 a year.

If I only had to pay for what is essential I could probably cut work back to 2 days a week. But sitting around is boring and buying things I don’t “need” is fun. I don’t usually make wasteful purchases. Most stuff I buy at minimum holds its value and a lot of it makes money.

He did say. But that might have been cut out as part of the pruning.
