Pneumatic Tires

I have a 7ft Woods finish mower with pneumatic tires on all 4 corners. Last summer I had a rash of flat tires. I know the property well and can't think of what I was getting into. Something was slashing the tire which then tore up the inner tube.
I was thinking of sliming all 4 but I think whatever was doing the damage is beyond slime.
My question is why put pneumatic tires on these decks at all at all? Hard rubber would last forever couldn't go flat.

Both my Caroni RFM's have solid tires and they have lasted very well. I have foam filled airplane tires on one of my Woods rotary cutters; don't know about foam filling on smaller tires.

I do believe they would be easier on the lawn.

I had a wheelbarrow like this the tire was flat everytime I used it. I ended up buying a slime tube for it, hasn't been flat since.

My 30 gallon upright air-compressor had tube type pneumatic tires that wouldn't hold air, even with a great deal of slime in them. Of course, I don't move the compressor around much, and naturally, I had air available to air them up anytime, but those tube type valve stems were awkward to get to and awkward to air without pushing them back into the tire. So I checked into the possibility of having them foam filled. The only place I found in this area that does that said there was a $45 per tire minimum for doing it, and he suggested buying new tires and wheels at Tractor Supply, which I did; same size and although they're solid rubber, they're a soft rubber that looks and feels more like a pneumatic tire and cost $24.99 each plus tax.

I had my tractor tires foam filled. It was $ 1.00 a pound 2 years ago,1200 lbs on my tractor but worth every bit of it. I asked about small tires and the said $ 20.00 min and that would cover most small tires the riding mowers.
