I'm trying to pick out the colors for my soon-to-be-built pole barn. I like the dark green roof with light gray or "hickory moss" siding. The wife and I saw a dark red roof with gray siding and we both liked it. Trying to find an earthy color that will blend in with the woods and field.

What color is yours and would you change it? Please post pics!

I'm a big fan of green roofs myself, but almost went with red. I really like the red roof look, but was told that red fades fairly quickly. It also has an exception in it's warrentee compared to other colors. I don't know this for a fact and have seen plenty of red roofs that look fine from a distance. I just chose not to take the gamble.

Green roof and grey siding would make a very attractive building.

We did our little barn in Sikkens natural light stain and Hartford Green roof.
The stain is just a little too orange but, I'll restain in a few years.

My vote "Navy Gray".

I just went with the basic white for the roof and sides.
Looked at the colors but the price difference kept me from them.
Those darker colors cost a fair bit more because they have to be better quality to stand up to the sun without fading.

Here's a pic of mine, taken right after construction was finished.

Dark Green roof, slate grey siding.

This summer I plan to reface the front and side that faces the house with 4' of cultured stone then board and batt cedar to the eaves. I'd rater leave the hard sun/weather side in steel.

Last two barns I have built I chose white roof and trim. White roof to help reflect heat. Red siding. I just like the look of red barn with white trim.

Think about it if you live up north too!! Anyone who's ever put hay in a barn knows what I mean..

Here's my redish/brown roof with tan/cream siding. I like the darker roof color because it helps with heat in the winter and melts the snow off it faster.

We went with a monochromatic color scheme. Hickory moss siding with a slightly darker brown roof. Blends in well during all seasons.

I tend to think of heat first. White is best for that, of course, but green and blue aren't bad, red is very hot. Black would obviously be the hottest.

Me, I like a green roof with cream siding for a pole barn. Seems the most pleasant to look at to me for a metal building.

Wood barns are different, of course and red or white siding is a must.

I let the wife pick the colors, she has the talent, and I am just thankful she was in agreement that it was the right time to build.

My wife picked out my colors too!!! She did make me return the roll up door that I bought without consulting her first. I thought brown would look real nice with the tan walls and green roof. Nope, she said I was a typican man without any clue about color. I can't aurgue with her on that, so I did as I was told and will never disgree with her on color again. :D :D :D
