Did I fail to mention the rock would be about 2' by 2' by 4'?
Ok, I ment a boulder. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif That, in the ground, under the posts would certainly hold. A contractor I talked to said to set the post then drill through both and drive the spike into the rock.

Here is pic of my partialy finished pole barn built mostly from sawmill lumber, one of my friends built his this way about 10 years ago and it is still doing fine. Dont laught im no carpenter. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

from this far up the holler or hollow however you want to say it, you can see the red roof. I started to put shingles on it but after some debate i went with tin.
