Barn is ready to start framing the roof. 20 mph winds stopped me from putting the ridge beam up.
Using Simpson H1Z hurricane ties to attach the rafters.
Installed most of the purlins. Ordered the metal and should be ready for installation in a couple weeks. Had to take most of June off to prepare and drill 20 acres of WW-B Dahl and bale hay. Hopefully it continues to be a wet summer in Texas.
Looking good joe!! Wow, look at that land! TEXAS (in my opinion, one canno' write or say that word except in all capital letters), now that looks like what TEXAS should look like to me. Sidetracked a bit... How'd ye find round poles? Seems here all we have access to is 6x6, which I like, but I also like the round ones.
Thanks for the compliment. Its amazing what a little rain can do. Last year at this time you could see bare dirt in the fields.
I'm a native Texan and a little partial, but from my time in the Navy, I know there are many beautiful parts of the USA. Upstate New York looks looks very similar (in the summertime and if you ignore the mesquite trees).
Civilization is closing in fast. I hear there are 110 people moving into greater Austin from out of state every day. I guess pretty soon I'll have to trade my tractors in for a Prius.
