Pond Identity Crisis Please Help (pics)

I put an aerator into my small pond the first year I moved in due to the overwhelming algae growth. It worked very well. During the height of summer I may get a bit of growth around the edges, but nothing major. I have also used Copper Sulfate. I use it about 1/2 strength and only used it around the bank. I've read using it on the entire pond all at once can cause a fish kill due to the decomposing algae releasing CO2. The Copper Sulfate worked well also, but I would still recommend the aerator. Be sure to follow the directions since the gases trapped on the bottom part of the pond will be mixed with the oxygen rich water up top and it can also cause a fish kill. My directions advised starting the aerator for 15 minutes the first day, then doubling it each day, until you reached 24 hours a day. If you smell rotten eggs (like I did) don't double the time the next day. For example if you were running it for an hour, and noticed that unmistakable odor, run it for an hour the next day again.

If you want to try the aeration thing on the cheap and you have power nearby do what I do in one of my ponds.

I built a small 4'x4' raft with a 1/3hp submersible pump attached to 8' of 1 1/2" PVC pipe coming through the raft about 12".
It works great and takes the water from 7' down and makes a nice fountain about 36" high of nice white (aerated) water 24/7
Go to pond boss as others stated for more ideas but if you don't want to get into considerable money just to try something out, this should work for you.
You can get these pumps pretty cheap $40 on sale and if they last two seasons its still great.
