This past summer I worked on a project for a neighbor. I posted some questions while it was under constructions at 2 Ponds and a River . My part of the project basically involved all of the holes and ditches in the ground. My neighbor had a contractor working at his place for close to 3 months solid and a good part of this time was finishing this "water feature". I promised to show some finished pictures, so here they are. Although the landscaping isn't totally complete, the basics are in. I'll show the pictures from the lower pond up to the upper pond. I found this very difficult to get good photos, so bare with me. The attached picture is the lower pond with the two inlets.

Here is a picture of the inlet into to upper pond. The water is pumped through the rocks to create a small waterfall.

I have friends with ponds that have planted koi and other exotic fish in their ponds. They found it was just a short stay for them. We have Heron, Otter, Bald Eagles, Fox, etc.... The wildlife really appreciated them as delicacies.

How do you plant them? Tail or head first?

CTyler,
I did have a friend that used to plant Sea Anenomes in his yard. We all wondered what that was all about. The only other type of plant he had in his yard was ferns. His ferns were beautiful. They had huge, full, dark green fronds. Anyway, one day I had to go over and ask him about the Sea Anenomes. He did confess that he was having trouble growing them, but concluded that “With fronds like that, who needs anemones?”……… /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
