The cut quality with my JD LX6 is definitely better when the grass is not too dry. Mowed really dry, tall (gone to seed) grass yesterday and the cut was patchy and some of it would stand back up. When a little damper this does not happen.
I also noticed that lower rpms made this worse and dropping down a gear for higher rpms definitely improves cut quality.
